5.0 out of 5 stars It's ALL Divine
Of course these are all previously released songs---but FINALLY someone decided to highlight some of her best and most underappreciated work to date. If fact, her best songs have consistently been tracks never released as singles. I love ALL of her music, but, unfortunately, more radio friendly songs have taken the spotlight all too often. Songs like 'Sable on Blonde',...

3.0 out of 5 stars Don't take a bite out of this Danish.
I've been a Stevie Nicks fan since I was 5 years old and I heard "Rhiannon" on the radio for the first time. Since then, I've tried to collect everything (and I mean everything) she has ever done (and some bootlegs that I shouldn't have bought-Sorry, Stevie!).

I've been a Stevie Nicks fan since I was 5 years old and I heard "Rhiannon" on the radio for the first time. Since then, I've tried to collect everything (and I mean everything) she has ever done (and some bootlegs that I shouldn't have bought-Sorry, Stevie!).

Most of the imports I have (from Japan, Germany, UK) feature remixes, unreleased US material, rare B-sides or Live persformances, but "The Divine Stevie Nicks" just offers regurgitated offerings from 1983's "The Wild Heart" and 1989's "The Other Side Of The Mirror." Yes, these were great tracks from great albums, but so many of Stevie's classic gems, such as "Edge Of Seventeen," "Leather And Lace," "I Can't Wait," "Talk To Me," are missing.

As the previous reviewer mentioned, if you're looking to start your Stevie CD Collection, I suggest "Timespace," "Fleetwood Mac's Greatest Hits," and the Boxed Set "Enchanted." These collections or any of the solo albums in the 80s have more flavor and substance than this stale Danish import.

I was very disappointed with this CD. As a hard core Stevie Nicks fan, I couldn't see wasting my money on this one. If you have Timepeace and/or Enchanted, why buy this when all these songs are already on the other compilations. Don't waste your money if you have Stevie's greatest hits CD already.

3.0 out of 5 stars OK - But Hardly Divine, January 4, 2001

I agree with the previous reviews that there are some good songs here but much of Stevie's best material is missing. On the positive side, this CD includes little heard gems such as "Ooh My Love," "Ghosts"(my personal favorite Stevie song), and "Nothing Ever Changes." But these songs are served along side such misfires as "Two Kinds of Love" and perhaps Stevie's worst efforts - "Alice" and "Gate and Garden." Go with the "Enchanted" boxed set..it costs more but it is a better value.

Stevie Nicks is one of the BEST Female vocalists around and I am a BIG collector of her music....but if you are a collector or even a Stevie fan...you should already have all these tracks on other easy to find albums. Usually, you would think they would put at least one or two unreleased songs that are hard to get on a CD like this one....it is THEN I think this CD would be worth purchasing. I fear the only reasons to purchase this CD is for the CD cover or if your a major collector who must have EVERYTHING of her. I probably will buy this but its best just to keep it sealed. Stevie..you RULE baby!!! ;)

3.0 out of 5 stars Good, but not the "Best of", December 7, 2000

"The Divine Stevie Nicks" can be deceiving unless you're already familiar with Stevie's music. If you're expecting a "Best Of" album, think again. "The Divine Stevie Nicks" borrows songs from only two of Stevie's albums, "The Wild Heart" and "The Other Side of the Mirror". To hear Stevie's best, or to start a Stevie collection, buy "Timespace: The Best of Stevie Nicks" or "The Enchanted Works of Stevie Nicks" box set. Don't get me wrong, "The Divine" includes some great music (Stand Back, Ghosts, If Anyone Falls), but it leaves out treasures from "Bella Donna" and "Rock a Little", two of her best albums(Stop Draggin' My Heart Around, Leather and Lace, Talk to Me).

Of course, "The Divine Stevie Nicks" is essential for true collectors, but they won't be hearing anything new. If you're not a die-hard Stevie fan, stick to her original albums or a Fleetwood Mac staple (Rumours, Greatest Hits, The Dance).

3.0 out of 5 stars Stevie Nicks: Divine (2001), August 6, 2005
This review is from: Divine (Audio CD)
In 2001, a few months after releasing her seventh album entitled, TROUBLE IN SHANGRI-LA, Stevie Nicks released her eighth album, which would be her second greatest hits album, entitled DIVINE. This greatest hits album only includes Stevie Nicks' overlooked hits from her two albums THE WILD HEART & THE OTHER SIDE OF THE MIRROR.

ROOMS ON FIRE
From the album THE OTHER SIDE OF THE MIRROR (1989). The fourth album's greatest single. This is a great song that I cannot stop listening to.

LONG WAY TO GO
From the album THE OTHER SIDE OF THE MIRROR (1989). Not bad.

THE WILD HEART
From the album THE WILD HEART (1983). Great song.

SABLE ON BLOND
From the album THE WILD HEART (1983). Not bad.

TWO KINDS OF LOVE
From the album THE OTHER SIDE OF THE MIRROR (1989). Not bad.

STAND BACK
From the album THE WILD HEART (1983). My favorite Stevie Nicks song. I will never, ever, in my lifetime, get tired of hearing this song.

FIRE BURNING
From the albumTHE OTHER SIDE OF THE MIRROR (1989). Another great song from THE OTHER SIDE OF THE MIRROR album.

OOH MY LOVE
From the album THE OTHER SIDE OF THE MIRROR (1989). Not bad.

ALICE
From the album THE OTHER SIDE OF THE MIRROR (1989). Not bad.

ENCHANTED
From the album THE WILD HEART (1983). Amazing.

NOTHING EVER CHANGES
From the album THE WILD HEART (1983). Great song.

GHOSTS
From the album THE OTHER SIDE OF THE MIRROR (1989). Awesome.

IF ANYONE FALLS
From the album THE WILD HEART (1983). Awesome song.

GATE AND GARDEN
From the album THE WILD HEART (1983). Not bad.

This album is not bad in sense that it does include a few of Stevie Nicks' greatest songs like, "Stand Back", "Rooms On Fire", "If Anyone Falls", etc. But I wish more of Stevie Nicks' overlooked hits would have been released. Hits from the albums, BELLA DONNA & ROCK A LITTLE.

I think most of the chosen singles from 'The Wild Heart' and 'The Other Side of the Mirror' were all wrong anyhow.
I just wish Stevie Nicks fans would stop idolizing a few chosen classics, and listen to Stevie AT HER BEST. I like this compilation for the simple fact that I can listen to these well chosen tracks from one source. Based upon the reviews above, there is a lot of Stevie Nicks yet undiscovered by even her most ardent fans. Get this---you will not be dissappointed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Definitely not 'Best of' but its good...., December 14, 2000

I don't have this cd but being the die-hard Stevie fan that I am, I don't need it. I have all of these wonderful songs already. As John has said they are missing songs from Stevie's other solo albums. Songs such as Talk to me, Edge of 17, Has Anyone Ever Written Anything For You, After The Glitter Fades, Stop Draggin' My Heart Around and many more.... I only gave it 5 stars because its Stevie and those are awesome songs but its not a 'Best of' cd.

If you are just becoming a Stevie fan, get Timespace or Enchanted.

This CD is a great combination of 'Wild Hearts' and 'The Other Side of the Mirror'. Most of the tracks on this compilation are from these two previous albums I mentioned above. Overall, it's a good CD which is pretty much put together as a concert setlist, if you want to call it. However, it's not a must for every true Stevie fans.
