Do you like a good love story? One that isn't just butterflies and rainbows, but one that tells you the story of two flawed people, or maybe a host of them, who are just trying to find and keep love?
This was a fantastic read, from the wonderful(song inspired) chapter names to the layers of storytelling that had me wiping my eyes one minute and then laughing so hard that my stomach hurt the next.

Powell is an engaging writer, quick witted and wonderful at weaving the many lives of her characters into a story of real emotions, real roadblocks to happily ever after while offering an almost "inside" look at what it's like to be part of a band on the road, a family, a partnership.

as a first novel Powell has me singing right along, wishing for an encore.

I love a good opening line - so of course I was stuck immediately when I picked this book up! Jamie, the road manager, is a woman I wished existed for real because if she did I would hunt her down and beg her to be my best friend! This is a story of Jamie (of course) daughter of an aging rock star who deals with her own love life as she manages her father's rock band. I would say that it's a great book for a first novel, but in all honesty it would still be a good book if it wasn't a first novel.

I am hoping for a sequel, I would love to find out how Jamie's life turns out!
