I can't say enough about this book and its down-to-earth, benevolent approach to saving one's marriage by going back and realizing what's special and attracted you to your spouse--I had to go way back to remember! Dr. Pransky has beautiful and encouraging insights to offer. It's so refreshing to read a book that values marriage and gives hope and practical advice. I keep rereading and applying the book's suggestions as my marriage continues to improve. This book is the most positive and helpful I've read on the subject--and I've read many!

With out the help of this book my life, my wife, and my wonderful children's life would not be the same.

I happened upon this book in a library 2 years ago. It made such an impact on my marriage and my relationships with others that I couldn't forget it or it's messages.This book is easy to read and easy to understand. The more I read this book, the more I was amazed by how simple it was to fix my failing marriage-like all of a sudden the "light bulb" flashed on.I now have need of this book again and am sending it to a friend. This how much I believe in this book.

This book suggests ways to prevent contaminating your relationship. The methods are easy and work immeadiately. The book also debunks some myths about why marriages don't work. It shows that you don't have to analyze your relationship to death to make it work.

This book is so valuable, it needs to be completely retitled as ...

"A Definite, Must-Have Book for ANYONE in ANY Relationship."

Here's why ...

In so many areas of life, we get trainings so that we can do something better. For relationships, however, training typically isn't provided. As a result, we muddle through, often with unsatisfying results and repeated blunders -- usually working completely in the dark about why our approaches are not working.

Worse still, we don't even have an idea of other methods that would work better. For most of us, we're not "Sleepless in Seattle" -- but "Clueless" instead.

And this doesn't apply to us only when we're near divorce ... it applies to the beginnings and middles of our relationships even more! And it applies to non-romantic relationships as well.

With George Pransky's book, there are three important ways it helps us immensely ...

1.) It surfaces and discusses many of the unconscious operating principles (i.e., myths) we typically use in our romantic relationships.

2.) It clearly shows why these myths are faulty and need to be given up -- they don't work, nor will they ever work, despite how much we try. They only cause and compound our relationship problems.

3.) It offers new ways of thinking and relating, which are not only easy to adopt, but even better, they actually, really work!

I've personally seen all my relationships (romantic and non) improve significantly whenever I employ this book's ideas. And this claim doesn't come just from me, but also from many others who have frequently complimented me being so unusually ... helpful, understanding, and even more interesting!

My advice: Don't wait until things get close to divorce -- prevent it right from the start by reading this book. Plus, you'll enjoy the beginnings and middles of your relationships so much more, too boot!

I have read and re-read this valuable tool over the past 10 years. I have given it (new and used) to every newlywed and engaged couple I know ... including family. This book should be REQUIRED reading before any woman or man is allowed to get married.

This book should be retitled "Moods and How to Live with Them" and subtitled "Why Psychiatry is All Wrong". It's a fantastic book and simply reading it has changed almost every aspect of my life for the better.

I am curious to know if the author wrote this book before or after his own divorce and remarriage.
