Book by Anti-family Predator,
By Pelatis (Huntsville, AL USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Divorce War! 50 Strategies Every Woman Needs To Know To Win (Paperback)
This book by divorce attorney Pistotnik is indicative of a vast and lucrative divorce industry that has sprung up to profit from family dissolution. Pistotnik openly advocates the exploitation of fathers. He advises mothers: "You want as much of your divorce settlement to be classified as monthly payment of child support," rather than alimony. "Ordinary stress may be sufficient for a lawsuit against your husband in addition to the divorce." "The single most important tool that your husband can utilize to dismantle your divorce strategy is a signed marriage contract." But, "You can go around a prenuptial contract by filing a marital tort claim for abuse." Clearly, the author is an anti-family predator.

Appalled and disgusted,
By A Customer
This review is from: Divorce War! 50 Strategies Every Woman Needs To Know To Win (Paperback)
Amazing! A how-to manual that encourages illegal/unethical behavior available at any major bookstore. It's like being able to buy street drugs at the corner pharmacy! The author encourages women to lie, cheat and manipulate -- without regard to innocent persons -- i.e., children of a failed marriage. I especially liked (NOT) the case studies where women manufactured evidence to have their soon-to-be-ex's put in jail. I didn't realize that was legal. IMO, the author's attitudes and methods are counterproductive to the advances made by women's rights groups over the years, since they encourage women to remain dependent on someone else. I returned my copy since I didn't want this author receiving any royalty monies from me.

This book encourages women to act, lie, deceive, cheat, manipulate the courts and turn the children against the father. the real losers are the the children of vindictive weak people who use these methods to destroy someone if you don't like your man just divorce him, and get on with your life. Its tactics like these that destroy the children of divorce, the family and our society.

Sound Advice On Legal System, Thumbs Down On Lowdown Tactics,
This review is from: Divorce War! 50 Strategies Every Woman Needs To Know To Win (Paperback)
If you still love your estranged husband (or wife, for that matter, as the text is relevant to both sexes), toss this book, walk away and forget it has ever come into your possession. "Divorce War" is written for those who believe in getting even in the event of a separation, not least in their being awarded a huge financial settlement at the time of divorce. If you see yourself belonging to this category, the book sets out to advance some 50 strategies, albeit vindictive ones, on how you could make the best of the situation when your other half decides to opt out of your life or vice versa.
The author, Bradley A. Pistotnik, Esq., wrote the book not just to help you get back at your estranged spouse. He is also attempting to gain your trust, and hopefully, your money by convincing you how you would gain by employing him to represent you should you decide to get a divorce (stressing whether your spouse had committed any wrongful deed was irrelevant, that as long as you desire a divorce is good enough justification to start taking measured steps to make the most out of it). The book is a major eye-opener to me as it was so full of hatred and greed, not to mention how some people could write such blatant promotional prose on how to turn a mega lucrative situation out of a divorce. As the author is a lawyer by training and has obviously done extensive research and/or represented sufficient women in divorce cases, the strength of the book lies in its comprehensive look at the litigious elements of courtroom procedures ("In Divorce Negotiations, Start High and Negotiate Down", Chapter 15) and etiquette ("Strategies for Courtroom Testimony", Chapter 17), not least some sound advice regarding the ins and outs on the preparation stage like "Use a Private Investigator" (Chapter 13), "Find the Best Divorce lawyer" (Chapter 3) and "Finding a Psychologist to Testify Against..." (Chapter 16). However, the crux of what is wrong is the recurring theme and overplay of vengeance that ran the gamut of the book - mantras like "REVENGE IS ALL THAT IS LEFT TO YOU" or "REVENGE IS SWEET" or "MAKE YOUR HUSBAND PAY" are many and not so far between. Yes, the book does offer tips which would help battered and mistreated women gain the necessary insight, self-respect and obtain what is rightfully theirs on account of the injustices that have been committed upon them. But why preach the gospel that one needs to "steal, cheat, play dirty, be deceitful and destroy" their estranged spouse at any cost? Given the stuff that was written in "Divorce War", the most incredulous part is the author's surprising dedication of the book to "our Heavenly Father above". Frankly, this kind of "religious" belief, thinking and way of life is totally scaring the living daylights out of me, a heterosexual woman, and probably legion of men out there who are contemplating marriage or re-evaluating their marital statuses. Why are the virtues of love, trust and daily forgiveness no longer being advocated in the wholesome unions between men and women and their lives beyond, even in the event of divorce? While I believe wholeheartedly the extreme cases of domestic battering, sexual abuse, continual promiscuity and lewd conduct within the confounds of marriage should be strictly and forcibly dealt with by the law, what if gold diggers (conmen or con-women) make use of these irksome acts with the intention of getting out as soon as they entered into loveless marriage justified by money or convenience? And why is it that couples can no longer be advised to part company on account of irretrievable or irreconcilable differences under more cordial and amicable terms? As knowledge is power, if you are at the crossroad of contemplating divorce or reckon you shall be at the receiving end in the not-too-distant future, my advice to you is to read as many relevant books as possible, especially those on procedural and litigatious perspectives, even forensic accounting if you have cause to believe this is a possible loophole/route. But whatever you do, do not be deceived into falling into the trap of these weasely divorce experts by acting dishonorably and unethically. Even in the absence of conscience, these dirty tricks may backfire as the Court is not 100% gullible. By the way, there is one other book, "Beat Him In His Own Divorce", which is available on amazon.com and written in an even more vengeful vein compared to "Divorce War". Both books were penned in the guise of being your best wartime buddies but in reality showcased nothing more than the mercenary ravings of two men (one alongside wife) who shamelessly advertised their less than honorable strategies to gain attention and business. Having perused the scope and reality of these two books, I could at best rate these books as supplementary materials to make you aware of the possible tricks that could be played in the whole divorce enchilada. For less extremist commentaries, I would recommend fellow readers to seek out more respectful divorce guide books out there, like "Your Marriage Advisor: A Lawyer and Psychologist Guide You Through the Emotional Landscape of Divorce" by Diane Mercer and Marsha Klein Pruitt. This book takes you on the ride through the entire divorce process (both the legal and psychological aspects of it) and is imbued with positive energy, highlighting that "the best strategy is to take care of yourself and your family, especially your children...this is truly your mantra". This is, in my opinion, the best and most balanced divorce books out there where the authors did not advocate retaliation as a viable option, but cared enough to remind readers how divorce is a no-win scenario to all and how one should get out of the unpalatable situation in one piece. For those needing help in uncovering hidden assets, check out "Forensic Accounting in Matrimonial Divorce" by James A. DiGabriele.

Disturbing reading.....,
By Christopher (Portland, Oregon United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Divorce War! 50 Strategies Every Woman Needs To Know To Win (Paperback)
Every man, regardless of his age or marital status, needs to read this book. I was astounded at the level of cruelty and dishonesty advocated by this supposedly God-fearing author, who also happens to be an attorney for women. Of course, how anyone can claim to love God AND be an attorney is beyond me....
Seriously, the advice given by the author is nothing short of evil. It's attorneys like this who are feeding off of the marital breakdown in this country. When you read his advice you will understand why so many otherwise seemingly decent women do such horrible things to their husbands when they decide to seek a divorce. This book will be especially valuable to any young man who still harbors any illusions about the "sanctity of marraige", "holy matrimony", "the love of a 'good' woman" and all of that nonsense. It's a real eye-opener, and should be required reading before any man is allowed to purchase a marraige license. You will find that women are capable of doing some pretty horrible things, and that they feel no remorse at all.

I bought this book when I was going through my destructive divorce by a vindictive woman to gain insight. I did and then some! I have advocated reading this book to any man stupid enough to consider marriage (or worse: re-marriage) to see what they are setting themselves up for in our current twisted Family Court system. This exposes the sick, depraved, and totally acceptable tactics used during a divorce by preditory women and their attorneys. The fact that it enriches a scum attorney and publisher in doing so I feel is a small price for the greater good (I gave my copy away for the cause).

I was shocked that anyone would even put this into print. Some of the tips, like taping your spouse's telephone call are illegal aren't they? This was not much help and a waste of money.

If you're drafted into battle, this book will arm you!,

I didn't want to fight. I wanted us to part, so that we'd both be happier and be able to prosper on our own. He didn't feel the same. He waged war against me and because I'm "nice" I joined the battle unarmed and completely vulnerable. I don't want to hurt him, but I'm strong enough to put my foot down and say, "No more abuse!" Divorce War gave me my sword.

Outstanding book for women!,

This review is from: Divorce War! 50 Strategies Every Woman Needs To Know To Win (Paperback)
Just got done reading this book and found it very informative. It gives women specifics about how to go about the divorce procedure and how to win a lucrative settlement. It has information that the majority of divorce lawyers would agree with but can't tell their clients due to ethics. Follows the saying "All's fair in love and war!". This book would make most men cringe at the prospect of their spouse being this informed.

This Book Could Cost You Big Time!,

This review is from: Divorce War! 50 Strategies Every Woman Needs To Know To Win (Paperback)
As a practicing divorce lawyer with over 15 years experience and a feminist who has counseled and represented many women in divorces, I was deeply concerned about some of the advice offered in this book. Although the author may be well intentioned, the information is outdated and some of it could hurt women in California. Advice is given on how to hide assets and how to play the victim card. In California, if a woman were to follow the advice in this book, she could easily be sanctioned for 'breach of fiduciary duty' as well as being chastised by a judge and being perceived as a 'deadbeat.' She could even be sanctioned and ordered to pay a portion of her husband's attorneys' fees. This doesn't mean a woman can't be cunning in her divorce, she just needs to find a lawyer who can help her determine which actions are wise and which are unwise. A better course of action would be to find strategies that give a woman an education on the divorce laws in her county and what she needs to do--in her particular situation, to obtain the best results.
This isn't the Dark Ages anymore; we women don't have to resort to trickery to obtain good results. We can behave with integrity and strength to maximize our chances in a legal system that isn't always fair to women. |
