I buy these pencils "because it's easier for the 5 year old". But the truth is, I like to use them. I love the way it fits in my fingers and the "rubbery" feel of the outside just makes for a very comfortable pencil.
For the kids, the large eraser is perfect for lots of mistakes. And they rarely ever run out of eraser before the pencil is done.
Also with the larger leads, they don't break them nearly as often and they don't roll off the table and break themselves.
I will continue to buy these even as the kids outgrow them.
