I work hard to remember everything, sometimes reading small sections multiple times to try and get it into my long-term memory. I mention this because I love to read and hate to think a day has passed without having read and learned something. I am far from being a gamer, but DmC has kind of given me the potion of the notion of why certain video games become so heralded, so popular. The team @ NVision are to be credited for really drawing my interest to DmC: before my nerve disorder, I was a freelance illustrator so undoubtedly I consciously and unconsciously look for artistic mental stimulation visually. My mind demonstrates I still have it; my hands can no longer produce in this fashion so I have to enjoy what others offer rather than being saddened by my personal loss(little rabbit trail for you). But words turn into pictures, and this guide provides the best of both, because understanding is the key. Watching YouTube walkthroughs, I can't knock them but I hate being in awe of something I can certainly mimic with enough playtime but still end up feel inadequate. In this fashion, my knowledge base is limited because the best gamers have references and guides like this have to be the key to trial and error. Pressing X, B, Y and A is simple, but when you want to get beyond, "Now how did he/she do that?!," I think reading gets you to this point, along with the practice. The DmC strategy guide is much larger than I expected, and well worth the price. I beat the initial starting level of the game, but what watching video walkthroughs did not clue me into was how to deliver the striking blow to finish the game. The guide provided me what I was visually seeing by video but was missing by way of comprehension mentally: the Devil Trigger.Read more ›

It does the job, not the most detailed guide, but its nice to have. I would recommend this if you want to collect everything in this great game.

I received my guide earlier than expected, so I was able to read up on the game before it even arrived to my doorstep. It is very detailed; just about every fundamental aspect about the game is covered from weapons and how to use them efficiently to enemies and the best strategies to defeat them. Every mission, secret mission, enemy encounter, and boss fight is explained in depth. While the guide does assume you'll be making your first playthrough on Nephilim, the hardest default difficulty, it also displays the major changes found in the harder unlockable difficulties such as Son of Sparda, Heaven and Hell, and of course the infamous Dante Must Die. The only thing it doesn't talk about is the Bloody Palace and Vergil's Downfall DLC campaigns due out this quarter. If you like this game and need a little help, or just like collecting guides, you won't be disappointed.
