5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent if it fits your needs...
Product does what it says. However, you need to follow the instructions! A scope is pretty much mandatory if you want to keep your target pretty. Pistol is something like 30 yards minimum & rifle is 100 yards. Without a scope, you will most likely NOT be able to hit this target at the minimum yardage -- it's small.

Product does what it says. However, you need to follow the instructions! A scope is pretty much mandatory if you want to keep your target pretty. As I don't care about aesthetics, I have shot with a rifle at about 30 yards. No dents or dings, but paint is completely shattered & flaked off. One of the welded joint is broken from a rifle hit at 20 yards, but does not affect functionality. So far, this spinner has held up to about 100 hits with high velocity ammo. Even at this short distance, I expect the spinner to survive at least 1,000 more hits. Highly recommend if you can follow the directions, or do not care about the paint. If you do follow directions, I expect this target to last a lifetime.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good Fun!, March 22, 2011

For my preferences it is always more fun to shoot reactive targets than punching holes in paper. This spinner fits the bill and is really fun to shoot. You must have fairly good aim because even the biggest spinner on this is fairly small. I believe it is recommended to set the target up at 25 yards minimum, but at that distance you better be using a rifle. I instead set it up about 25 feet away, which is the minimum distance that the range I belong to allows. At that distance it is easy to hit even the smallest spinner with a properly adjusted 22 pistol. I have not had any ricocheting fragments to worry about but you should always wear proper protection.

Like everyone else has stated, "Dang these targets are small!" I really can't see the target at the minimum distance stated in the instructions, so I am shooting from about 15 yards. The reason I am only giving 4 stars, though is because they are not made from very heavy material. My son and I have shot them many times, and they are no longer flat. This may be because we are shooting copper "jacketed" .22s at them, because we can't get the plain lead ones at Wal-Mart. On the positive side, we like being able to see the results of our hits by spinning the targets, or at least moving them and hearing the hits. They don't always spin, unless hit below halfway down on the target body. Oh, and if you are really expecting the stick on target and paint to stay on, you are just not being realistic, so be sure and get a can of Krylon to paint them with. I wouldn't suggest ordering more stick on targets, since they are really not worth the effort. They are great to include in a target shooting practice, along with the paper targets.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Shooter's Review, February 16, 2010
This review is from: Do-All Outdoors .22 Spinner Target (Sports)
I got this for my dad for Christmas last year from WalMart and I must say that for about ten bucks this thing has been more than durable. Although the targets are a little small, I have had no problem hitting them from twenty-five yards out with iron sites on my .22, and even if you can't hit them you can still move the target in closer. Either way the targets offer a fun challenge. Additionally, the .22s do make them spin every time their hit, and the metal ting is very satisfying to the marksman, much more so than a paper target. For the most part the little legs hold the stand up fine, even in powdery snow. The only complaint I have is that the little paper stickers get shot off pretty quickly, and the red paint flakes off on the back of the spinner, but don't worry, the metal doesn't just start rusting off. Overall I would say this is a great buy for a great price. It makes shooting my .22 and my BB gun a lot more fun.

It's more than sturdy enough for a .22. I had made my own and am glad that I got this for it's replacement. Spinner targets are the best. Having 3 different size targets is nice. All shooters can hit the 3" target and even good shooters are challenged by the 1" spinner. Loads of fun!

Since most ranges do not allow steel targets anymore this "swing .22 type" is great for home use. A little small in size but that only helps you shoot better (anyone can hit the side of a barn) but this little set up gives you a decent challange. I will buy other steel targets that "Do All Outdoors" offer. especially the .38-.44 gauge metal targets. A++

4.0 out of 5 stars Better than shooting at aluminum cans!, October 10, 2011

For the price, this is a good target. Yes it's small, but I'm using a scoped .22LR rifle so it's actually a good size at about 25 yards. I love trying for a triple-tap to see if I can get all three spinners in a row.

The photo associated with the listing is wrong -- In reality there are three difference sizes. And they go in order from small to medium to large (the small is not in the middle.)

As others have pointed out, the stickers are silly. They get shot to shreds real fast so don't bother with them. Also, you have to put the legs in the grounds VERY firmly or the impact of the bullets will knock it over in just a few shots. Not a big deal but something to be aware of.
