Product Description

Product Description

The Clay Hawk throws targets as singles and nested pairs of stacked doubles. The triangular base is ultra-stable and sits high enough off the ground that you can operate the trap from a chair. Three pivot mounts allow you to throw targets in all directions, and it includes ground spikes for stability.

Hone your trap shooting skills with the Do-All Outdoors Clayhawk, a versatile, ultra-stable full-cock trap for serious trap shooters. The Clayhawk--which mounts high enough above the ground to operate from a chair--throws both single targets and nested pairs of stacked doubles, so you can choose your favorite shooting style. Just as significantly, the trap's three-pivot mount lets you throw targets in all directions, at any angle, and on all planes, a must for shooters who want to keep things fresh. And thanks to the tetrahedron base and its long ground spikes, the Clayhawk eagerly grips the earth to add strength and stability. Specific details include a roller-bearing clutch and a sliding adjustable clip that allows for speed and direction changes. The unit, which comes with a free assembly DVD and weighs roughly 18 pounds, is backed by a two-year warranty on parts and labor, with a one-year limited warranty on the clutch.

This is typical made in china junk.

Basically I just cocked, pulled, and nudged the arm with my foot to get it to fling quicker.

This trap worked ok for the first few months. I then ran into another guy at our club using the same model and he warned me about the welds on the throwing arm breaking. I was hoping that maybe he just got a defective unit but sure enough mine broke in the same spot a few weeks later. It also managed to slice my hand open as the arm broke off its pivot point and whacked me. We'll see what the company does to repair it but I have a good feeling that the shipping charges to send this junk back will be more than the thrower is worth. This is typical made in china junk. You get what you pay for. Fool me once......

It works pretty good. It sucks to put together but it provides alot of fun once its assembled. We've launched about 1000 clays with it and its still working fine. Needs to be tightend up every once and a while but that only takes a min. I screwed it to a old pallet because the ground spikes seemed to loosen up alot. Now it works great. Sometines it breaks the clay target maybe 1 or 2 out of a box of 90. Which I can live with. Even the launchers at the club do that. The only other down fall is that it doesnt throw when rope is pulled you have to nudge the launcher arm, again not a big deal to me.

This trap works ok, but is heavy to move and the triangle base is awkward to handle. The best benefits are its' height (less stooping, your back will thank you) and the automatic full cocking function which is a blessing when shooting a full box of birds. I'd recommend this trap for those two reasons by themselves.

I saved nearly $60 from the bass pro shop price and it is identical. Not hatd to put together, very sturdy construction and welds, easily fling clays out 50 yrds any direction. The tools in the box work but I used my own too.

I was really not impressed with this unit. It took about an hour to put together as the directions were terrible. The bolts, nuts, and screws were not labeled, just loose in the bag.
Due to the bolt holes it's challenging to tighten and you will need two tools to do so. One on the inside and one on the outside.

Then there are the stakes that you insert it into the ground with. After about 5-10 shots you will have to hammer down again.

After about 15 thrown clays my unit stopped flinging after cocked instantly. It takes about 15 seconds before it flings. Basically I just cocked, pulled, and nudged the arm with my foot to get it to fling quicker.

I might as well have gone with a hand held unit for 15$.
