Few books have ever done so much for me. This book has helped me organize so much of my life, it's not even funny.

The best part of it, is it's not about making lists and filing papers, it's about what's important to you and really helping you prioritize what really matters in your life.

You'll be amazed at how easy it really is to be focused all the time.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Time-Management Tips to Organize Your Life, November 9, 2000
By
This review is from: To Do Doing Done: A Creative Approach to Managing Projects & Effectively Finishing What Matters Most (Paperback)
I've read a number of time management books. This was one of the best.

This book forces you to think about the *why* behind the things you each day (at home, at work, and for fun). It teaches readers to avoid doing "what's on top of the pile" and instead think more in terms of overall life strategy. (e.g. "For what reason am I doing this?")

Granted, the "mind mapping" and endless diagrams can get a little tedious. However, they are necessary for the author to illustrate her points.

Much of the listing techniques apply directly to the Franklin Covey Planner organization system. Therefore, if you have the Franklin Covey Planner, this book will be incredibly easy to follow.

4.0 out of 5 stars Life-Awakening, yet common-sense stuff., March 8, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: To Do Doing Done: A Creative Approach to Managing Projects & Effectively Finishing What Matters Most (Paperback)
It not only teaches time management, and how to effectively use a Day Planner, it teaches how to understand values in your life, and how to utilize those values to create goals and inner peace with yourself. If you're trying to become more organized, and need a little harmony and peace with what you want out of life, this is a terrific book,

4.0 out of 5 stars Combine application of Mindmapping & Franklin day planner, September 15, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: To Do Doing Done: A Creative Approach to Managing Projects & Effectively Finishing What Matters Most (Paperback)
This small book combined the ideas from Mindmapping (creativity & notes taking) and another book : the 10 natural laws of sucessful time and life management (inner peace, productivity pyramid & Franklin day planner user guide).

Joyce then transformed these ideas into a four steps "project management process". She also included her experience on using GANNT charts.

I believed that Joyce have proved the approach in this book before present to us!

It works for me! Thanks!!

This review is from: To Do Doing Done: A Creative Approach to Managing Projects & Effectively Finishing What Matters Most (Paperback)
This is a very well written book and really does help one focus on what's important. I liked it so much, I used it in a Mentoring Training Session for the entire organization. It was very well received. An easy and fast read--but powerful!

5.0 out of 5 stars actually worth the time it takes to read, April 5, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: To Do Doing Done: A Creative Approach to Managing Projects & Effectively Finishing What Matters Most (Paperback)
I have read several project and project-planning books, and most were long on theory and short on concrete steps. This one is an exception. By the end of chapter three, I had learned enough to start saving time on the projects I manage. It has an extremely high page-to-value ratio, which makes it worth the time it takes to read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Put this one on your To Do List..Now!, November 9, 1997

This review is from: To Do Doing Done: A Creative Approach to Managing Projects & Effectively Finishing What Matters Most (Paperback)
This book is essential for anyone who has entered their office and wondered where their desk went, or who has reached the end of day to wonder where the time went. The tips are practical and easy to follow; and what's most amazing -- they actually work! The book is also so small it's easy to pack into your brief case..a great book to read on the plane! Read it, follow it, tailor the system to suit your needs best. It's light reading with heavy results!

5.0 out of 5 stars Applicable to Any Projects, December 15, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: To Do Doing Done: A Creative Approach to Managing Projects & Effectively Finishing What Matters Most (Paperback)
The methods introduced are applicable to any projects we are involved: work-, family-, or friends- related. In other words, we can understand many "things" we do in daily life as projects that we can enjoy managing. Further, the authors constantly takes very *humble* attitude, making the entire book quite pleasant to read.

4.0 out of 5 stars A great book for helping you get organized!, January 6, 2002

This review is from: To Do Doing Done: A Creative Approach to Managing Projects & Effectively Finishing What Matters Most (Paperback)
If you are like me, reading a book on how to organize yourself is nearly as hard as doing the organization itself! This book really helped simplify the process with clear, common-sensical advice and an approach that was EASY! As one of the co-authors was formerly as disorganized as I was and used the methods to organize herself, (and documented the process in the book!) it made it 'real' for me in a way that I hadn't seen in other books on getting it together. This book is a keeper, and I continuously refer to it to help me keep myself on-track!

4.0 out of 5 stars This is how you do it all, May 16, 2001
This review is from: To Do Doing Done: A Creative Approach to Managing Projects & Effectively Finishing What Matters Most (Paperback)
This is an excellent, down to earth manual on getting things done and deciding exactly what it is you want to do.

It deals with specific skills and resources as well as "big picture" concerns.

This is "why, what, when and how to" training. Worth your investment in it.
