What I really like about Knight's video is that he explains not just the "how" but also the "why". You get an in-depth feel for how to do your own PPA because you understand the principles after watching these videos. I also liked the detail. He walks through the steps of writing an actual provisional patent for one of his own inventions. In comparison, the NOLO books are more like recipes in which you're given the steps and even a lot of examples but no clear sense of what matters or of why it matters. Since I'm the type who needs to understand what I'm doing and why I'm doing it, I really appreciated Knight's approach and found it far more helpful than NOLO's.

There's also a set a of videos for the non-provisional application.Do-It-Yourself Patent Course Because I liked Knight's approach so much, I'll be getting that next and skipping NOLO this time.
