A Psychologist's Thumbs Up Review of "I Do! I Do!",
By
This review is from: I Do! I Do! The Marriage Vow Workbook (Paperback)
As a psychologist who works with couples, I intend to use I Do! I Do! The Marriage Vow Workbook with my clients who are about to get married and also with those in couples therapy. Often folks in a relationship are unhappy because they have gotten off course or drifted from their initial vision for living together joyfully. They begin looking for a way out or for a way back to the magic that once held them together in a sacred commitment. Whether couples want to create a commitment or make a recommitment, it takes a thoughtful, step-by-step process that looks exactly like the one so beautifully designed and guided by Shonnie and Bruce in The Marriage Vow Workbook.

Thoughtful,
This review is from: I Do! I Do! The Marriage Vow Workbook (Paperback)
A very thoughtful process that asks all of us to rethink our relationships, whether newly engaged or not! I was amazed at how gently yet thoroughly Bruce & Shonnie guide readers in the consideration of their relationship dynamics...including many aspects we ALL should have considered years ago. The depth of their own marriage is mirrored in this wonderful book, and serves as a powerful example for other couples seeking to write their wedding vows or simply give their marriage a thoughtful review.

How to establish the vision for your team (marriage),
By Tom Heck (Asheville, NC USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: I Do! I Do! The Marriage Vow Workbook (Paperback)
You'll find loads of books that talk about the importance of vision statements for teams and organizations. Without a vision statement it's nearly impossible for a team or organization to go from "good to great". This book is how to create a vision statement for your marriage. I work in the field of team and leadership development and have experience helping teams and organizations develop vision statements that help (as Covey says) point to "True North". When any team (including your marriage) goes through tough times (it happens to the best) the vision statement provides the foundation and guidance the team needs to see it through to the other side. Vision statements (done right) really do work! Get this book if you and your partner are ready to create a vision statement for your marriage that will inspire you and carry you through all of life's ups and downs. The authors have made writing your marriage vows into a step-by-step process that will enlighten you and put a smile on your face. This book will help you learn about each other and set a course for a future that brings you closer together.

My wife and I used this workbook, then shared it with a friend, who has since tracked it's sharing with several other couples in our community. It is a keeper - not just for vows, but for recentering together during times of challenge. Really I don't think there is another resource like it that you can buy and start using immediately.
