FIRESIDE RULE!!, March 16, 2004

IF you haven't heard fireside (the early stuff, anyway) than you have missed out. If you are a hardcore fan, in a quicksand/stavesacre vain, then you need to check these guys out. Their first 4 releases have all been great records, and if you can find these records and like emo-ish hardcore (not whiney enough to be emo, really) then check them out. Personally, i would give their last 2 records a miss though. I understand that a band may want to evolve and try new sounds, but the use of the drum machine in their elite album was just criminal. Their most recent album, get shot, is a vast improvement on elite, but again not quite up to the standard of "do not tailgate", "fantastic 4", "Uoimini.." and "hello kids".
If you are a hives fan though, then I recommend checking out their new release, "get shot."
