Over the past 15 years I have read numerous works by many libertarian writers. Walter Williams, Thomas Sowell, Ayn Rand, Charles Murray, P.J. O'Rourke, Dave Barry, Henry Hazlitt, F.A. Hayek, Ludwig Von Mises, Milton Friedman, Murray Rothbard, Julian Simon, and many others. Walter Williams is my definite favorite libertarian writer. He tells the plain, simple truth in a way that is very easy to understand. He presents the facts in such a way that only a fool could read him and then walk away without becoming a libertarian. This book is pretty much on par with his others. Which is to say, it is excellent. Mr Williams is a true supporter of individual liberty, freedom, private property rights, and strict limits on the size of government. Good for him!

Everything Walter Williams writes is worth reading. His amazing capacity to convey economic truths combines with his wisdom, humor, eloquence, and keen powers of observation to make him one of America's top pundits. Williams is that rare bird: a truly courageous pundit who is also a genuine scholar.

This book is a compilation of columns by America's strongest voice of liberty, Dr. Walter E. Williams. In this book Dr. Williams offers his common sense, freedom-loving take on the vital issues of the day. He fearlessly confronts the many liberal fallacies responsible for eroding our precious liberties. A must read for anyone wanting to expand their base of knowledge and unafraid to confront stark truths. A great antidote to the toxic political propaganda many of our universities dispense. And, a great book for Blacks brave enough to challenge the ethnic grievance industry (Jackson-Sharpton).

Dr. Williams presents a series of outstanding essays that extol the virtues of personal freedom, liberty and self-reliance. His common sense approach appeals to all willing to think through the complex issues of the day. A must read for every American.

this is a terrific book. Though the situations he discusses may be a few years old, the principles and the issues he covers are still hot topics of debait. It is also very intertaining and fun to read. Dr. Williams is a true freedom fighter. Go Walter GO!!

This is simply the best book I have ever read. Dr. Williams discusses what is wrong in America, and utilizes economic theory to back up his position. This is a book that everyone should take the time to read. It will quite literaly open your mind to a new perspective of the social problems of this county. Do The Right Thing, and read this book

"Do the Right Thing" is fantastic collection of Walter E. Williams' famous short essays from his nationally syndicated column. Mr. Williams covers many of the hottest political issues from Race and Sex, to Government, to Education. Mr. Williams develops his arguement using the fundamentals of economics to prove his points. The essays are short and written with a common sense approach which Mr. Williams is famous for. He uses very simple analogies which any reader can quickly envision. Because each essay is short and easy to read it makes a great daily reader. Do the right thing and take the time to browse this book, you too, may be swayed to a new understanding of today's political scene.

This is a collection of Prof. Walter Williams's newspaper columns. It's in his usual plainspoken, tough minded style. A must for the Prof. Williams fan.

"Do the Right Thing" is a book of writings by Walter E. Williams. Mr. Williams is a conservative-minded person who has credentials in Economics and writes newspaper columns based in politics. He is a clear thinker and is slightly to the right of Thomas Sowell on most matters. While I am sure that leftists find Williams to be annoying, he is not purposely annoying and is relatively gentle in his handling of political questions. The writings in this book were done in the 1990s and quite a few of them pertain to the Clinton years. However, it is remarkable how apt they are for the new Obama administration! This book is very good reading and may raise your blood pressure. Definitely Recommended!
