An old misterious italian band since 1977,
By A Customer
This review is from: Do What Thou Wilt (Audio CD)
This is the fifth work from this band that started playing satanic music in Italy in a totally unready period. This album is on A. Crowley's work. Lyrics remaind me Byron's conception on Satanism(like a freedom carrier).Fast percussions and good technique, and a great ballad. This is an adrenalinic cd with some synth effects and wraping atmosphere. A pearl

Legendary Italian Occult/Progressive/Power Metal,
By Fulci Lives. (New York, USA) - See all my reviews

This record is far and above one of the best that I've heard... All of the instruments are brought together as one cohesive unit and are clearly represented, hell even the keyboard sounds good! Some damn well crafted tunes on this release, I recommend it to anyone who's not a wimp and is looking for some very original and compelling music. Pick this one up instead of that brand new Cradle o' Finks disc you were thinking about getting the other day. Your girlfriend will appreciate you for it.

No doubt that this band hasn't had what it deserves. All their albums are masterpieces but this one is even better.Due the scarce availability of their works I really recommend to buy this one since you found it.Last and most important:they play horror-occult influenced heavy metal, never to fast but certainly HEAVY!

Italian Shock Rock/Occult Metal,

This is my first taste of this highly creative band from Italy, though I understand they go back as far as 1977. The music I found within was actually quite refreshing. I hear elements of progressive, goth, power metal and a bit of glam. The vocals are very unique in themselves. Steve Sylvester sings in a way I've never really heard before. At times he sort of shouts or sings without actually singing notes, other times he sings quite powerfully. I hear similarities to Moonspell in Scarlet Woman; Serpent Rainbow is a great, haunting dark ballad; Baron Samedi is an awesome glam/goth rocker reminding me of bands like Nosferatu and a faster Type O Negative (minus the deep baritone); and The Phoenix Mass is a good headbanging power metal thrasher. Aside from the forgettable intro, and the boring Crowley's Law, the music here is excellent. The bands image including Kiss-esque makeup and costumes, fits perfectly. Although I don't agree with the philosophy expressed in the lyrics, the sounds themselves are powerful. Great album.

I got the cd a few days ago and I haven't stopped listen to it yet .... This is a one of a kind band that is diffinitely original .. The music is Amazing , the lyrical content had to be well thought out ... This is the occult and horror mix that just paints a perfect picture of what could be or will be after Death ....I highly recommend this to all Metal fans , no matter what kind of metal you listen to this has something for everyone .. |
