The tape I'm reviewing is Take Me To The Cross,

Why are there no other tapes listed? I have 2 other ones. It was around Dec. when I first saw the video "Take Me To The Cross" on Praise T.V. with my 11 yr. old daughter. It's beautiful! It's April 19,1999. It's been a year since my dad passed away and that song hit home. I was my daddy's girl...we had that special relationship. All of you who have special family ties should kick back and listen to this tape. Al's voice is soothing to hear, his words go straight to the heart. Bye from Kenosha, Wi.

3 Good Songs = 3 Stars (Warning: for fans only!),

For those of us waiting for Al to emerge from his horrific plane crash and long hiatus, this album should've been a real "shot in the arm," but alas--it seems to need a shot in the arm instead.
On to the tracks... 1. The first track is upbeat and up-to-date. Al seems to be in top form, but then he slumps...no new listener could endure the slump, so if you're determined to try Al Denson's music, start with some other album. 2. Soul to Soul sounds like a song he borrowed from one of his old CDs--immediately dated. 3. Pledge to Purity: This one has a good message, but it's so forced and his background singer just wails all over it; she RUINS it! Their voices just don't match at all. 4. It's got that Al Denson, rollicking, "See Ya At the Party Feel"--it pops up every time. I know it's supposed to be fun, but this kind of upbeat-grinning-stuff I could do without. 5. See Him has the same tempo/feel as "That's What My Father Would Do". I guess it's okay, but if I don't skip it, I fall asleep. 6. The title song is a bit vocally mismatched, but one of the 3 good songs on this CD. Confrontational lyrics are a welcome thing in today's "love-love-love" Christian music which is born from and breeds shallow relationships. 7. Skip. 8. Dated. 9. Ecumenism meets the Republican party. Jesus kingdom is not of this world, and his name will always be a stone of division and stumbling. 10. AMAZING! Probably my favorite Al Denson song: it's trapped on this album. Powerful, personal lyrics demonstrate a walk with God to be mimicked. A super showcase for Al's unique voice.
