What An Amazing Talent!,
By
This review is from: Do You Love Me (Audio CD)
I recently saw Jonathan Butler in St. Louis performing with Dave Koz, Rick Braun, and Wayman Tisdale. The concert was truly spectacular but when Jonathan Butler came on stage and sang "Do You Love Me" the entire mood was changed. I've seen many, many talented musicians in my lifetime but this had to be the greatest performance I'd ever seen anytime, anywhere. Jonathan Butler is THE total package. His vocals are second to none and his guitar work is fabulous. A must-have CD for your collection! You'll be amazed as I was with his annointed performances!

If I had unlimited funds, I would purchase every copy of this CD I could get my hands on. I would then give a copy to everyone I came into contact with, as I am truly of the conviction that all persons, if they will open their hearts to it, will find love, peace and joy conveyed in this CD. As a person who has a deep passion for this universal language called "music", this CD is the best it can get.

eversince i was a teenager i've been listening to great music of great contemporary jazz guitarist but this this time this guy has taken me by storm .when you are listening to this album you don't need to program it ,its a combination of great guitar perfomance coupled with pure vocal backing from a dedicated music talent. the whole album is well organise with every perfomer in the album dedicated to the work ,which has proved jonathan as one of best guitarist on the planet and this album is the one which has established himself on top rankings of guitar perfomanes, and best person to partner with when it comes to real contemporary jazz.

We heard Jonathan do some cuts from this CD at the Winter Park Jazz Fest in July 2000, and had to have it. I wake up listening to the CD. Try it if you really enjoy Smooth Jazz. You will like this CD.

His Best Since Head To Head!,

This review is from: Do You Love Me (Audio CD)
This marks J/B's move to the independant N2K/Warlock/ECD company. What a Triumph! With awesome guitar work and time tested vocals make this a joyous event out of the CD. Life After You is haunting. Other Side of the World is sad. You Don't Belong to Me is cold and the whole CD is Great!

The Music Man,
By
This review is from: Do You Love Me (Audio CD)
Jonathan Butler's nickname should be "The Music Man", because all the cat does is make good music. A lot of artists make albums, but you find yourself fast forwarding to the 2-3 hits they have on the album. Not J.B., his albums are so brilliant you find yourself driving with his album playing and making excuses for yourself to keep driving to hear more of his music. If Prince becomes the artist when he changes his name to a symbol, well when Jonathan Butler changes his name to a symbol he will be known as the musician. I was blessed to see J.B. perform at the Newport Beach Jazz Festival in California. We'll just say he closed the 4 day weekend show, and after buying this CD and playing it you will know why. Oh yeah i might be moving to Atlanta soon, so what, next year i will be back for the jazz festival if he is performing.

Beautiful, thought provoking and sensual sounds!,

I am a lover of all types of music artists and I am so glad I found out about Johnathan Butler who is truly remarkable. You can feel his pain, passion and happiness through his gutiar and when he brings his voice in with his guitar you become one with him. I'm planning on seeing him live the next time he's in the DC area. I'm waiting for his next CD -- I want to hear more of this talented man!! Yes Johnthan, we love you!!

I don't know how I missed this one - I have been a JB fan for years!!! I don't know what it is, but I CANNOT get enough of this CD. Whatever mood this is I'm in, nothin sounds right every day except for this. The lyrics & music are so beautiful, they make my heart ache. Listening to 'you don't belong to me', 'life after you' & 'the way you look tonite' seem to be a daily requirement. And the mastery of the guitar playing is nothing short of awesome. Thanks, Mr. Butler - please keep up the good work! My mood depends on it!

I stumbled across this incredible singer after I heard his voice on a song from a Gregg Karakas CD. I had to find out who he was just from that particular song, and I'm sure glad I did! J.B. has an amazing voice, and I'm surprised and delighted to have come across such a talented vocalist. This CD is definitely a keeper!!!

As usual, Jonathan has produced a CD that is beautifully melodic. If you are a fan of guitar music that flows smoothly and vocals that are sensual, this CD is for you.
