Cute and cuddly,

This review is from: Do You Love Me? (Hardcover)
In a simple Q & A format, this short book demonstrates parents' unconditional love for their children. The computerized illustrations are cute and appealing. A bonus for parents of adopted children is that the "parent" and "child" characters don't match (eg, an elephant and a hippo; a long-nosed whats-it and a rabbit), but this will probably go unnoticed by most young readers unless pointed out.

This lovely book answers the questions all children have. Do you love me? Yes of course. Will you leave me? Never! The designs make you want to rub noses with your little one like an Eskimo. Adorable.

This book is so cute. I think it makes a great gift to a significant other, too.

boring,
By Wyoming Co. Librarian "LM" (West Virginia) - See all my reviews

I am a librarian and decided to read this book to a group of pre-school children that came for a visit. Since our library is the main one of our county all books that are ordered come though here before going on to the library branch that ordered it. The pre-school teacher had made a mistake in scheduling and brought the children on the wrong day. So I just grabbed a book that had come in for another library and went to the children's section to read to them. I will never do that again, I will at least make sure to read a few pages first no matter how hurried I am. The children looked confused and bored as I read to them. I am sure if this book had been written by an unknown author it would not have been published unless they paid for it themselves.

Contrary to a previous reviewer's opinion, I don't think this book promotes codependency. I believe that like many children's books it promotes love, acceptance and reassurance. These are attributes that young children need. It's a simple little book with a sweet message. Stop over analyzing what doesn't need to be-this isn't your dissertation-it's a kids' book.

A Beautiful Book to Read Again and Again,

This review is from: Do You Love Me? (Hardcover)
Our family absolutely loves this book. I purchased it when looking for a Valentine's Day book to read for my son's pre-school class. This book isn't about Valentine's Day. But it is about love.
It is a book that we all have enjoyed reading over and over and a lovely book for a beginning reader to share with a younger sibling. |
