After recording an album with a disco group called "High Fashion" in the early 80s and touring as a background singer with the legendary Pop/R&B vocalist Chaka Khan, Meli'sa Morgan snagged a solo deal with Capitol Records and released her first album in 1986 to much acclaim.

All of Morgan's hits are represented here. Although she only recorded 3 albums on the Capitol label between 1986 and 1990, Meli'sa racked up an impressive number of smashes. "Fool's Paradise", "Do You Still Love Me", "Love Changes" and her #1 debut "Do Me Baby" are all here. Even some cuts from her final and much overlooked album for the label "The Lady In Me" are here, including the minor hit "Can You Give Me What I Want".

Meli'sa would leave Capitol for Pendulum Records and release one more CD entitled "Still In Love" in 1992, her best effort since her debut for Capitol. After a mediocore response to the album, Morgan decided to leave the music business to concentrate on a failed marriage to playwright Shelly Garrett.

Meli'sa has been relegated to sporatic guest appearances over the past several years, mostly on CDs for Jazz musicians like Kim Waters and Mike Stevens. She has yet to release a CD of all new material, which is really ashame since Morgan possesses one of the best voices to come along in the past 15 years. Until some record company sees fit to record her astonishing voice again, you will have to settle for this fantastic 'Best Of' package. You won't be disappointed.

It's such ashame this beautiful, talented sister
hasn't been given her propers. Her voice gives
me shivers when she's singing. After getting this
collection- track down her album "Still In Love With
You" on the Pendulum label. Side one has some
uptempo missteps but all of side two shines- the
biggest highlight being an old school waltz called
"Let's Be Real."

From the very first time that I heard this song it touched my heart. I fell in love with this song from the start. I say this because I could relate to what Meli'sa was singing about. Since then...I just can't get enough of this wonderful singer. Meli'sa Morgan's powerful but yet sultry voice carries this song to another level in which few other artist's of today can do. She posseses a true gift and this artist really knows how to put her talent to good use. Not only does her exceptional and unique voice shine on this particular ballad, but does it with all her songs. Meli'sa does not get the recognition she deserves but I can say this much... she is the true meaning of the word DIVA.

When I first heard this unique & powerful voice, I was blown away! I have all her lps on Capitol Records & even the Elektra/Pendulum recording, Still In Love With You. The set has captured all of my favorites, such as Heartbreaking Decision, Love Changes, Wrong Lane, If You Can Do It & Do You Still Love Me. Check her out!

Meli'sa Morgan is more than just a Singer.She puts Feelings&Emotions into her Work.She Completely Re-Vamped Prince's Do Me Baby.She made it into a Gospel Type Song.Love Change's with Kasihif is a Classic 80's cut.She is Very Underrated.this is a Good Place to Start Listening to a Good Solid Artist.

A very hard to find cd that's worth the money if found. It show's Meli'sa's range as a singer and a excellent choice if you don't have any of her cd's.

I bought the CD in order to find some older music from this artist and was very pleased with the CD. The CD could have been a little cheaper, price wise, but I got free shipping so that made up for it, I guess. Love the CD and it arrived fairly quickly.

I love this CD. I just can't seem to take it out of my car. I listen to it on my way home from work.

Best known for her 1986 #1 R&B hit "Do Me Baby", Meli'sa Morgan was a great songstress who failed to get her due recognition. While the overall quality of the material she recorded was at times questionable her rich and powerful voice managed to shine through. This compilation focuses on her three Capitol releases and includes both the big hits and some impressive album tracks. My only reason for not giving this CD a 5-star rating is that its producers failed to include her 1992 Pendulum hits "Through The Tears" and her remake of Al Green's "I'm Still In Love With You". Given that all of Ms. Morgan's original CDs have been out-of-print for years this CDreally is a must-have for any fan of 1980s R&B.

Had an old tape and looked high and low for the CD......imported it...arrived super fast and what a WONDERFULL albulm!!!
The soft sultry "Do me Baby" to the sad "Do you still love me?" with the timeless "Fools Paradise"...who could want more if you love music with soul!!!
