5.0 out of 5 stars This book is AMAAAAAZING!!!!!
I cannot recommend it highly enough!!!!! As a girl passes from Womb into World, this book should be handed to her mother (who should *first* read it!), along with the statement that THIS BOOK IS FOUNDATIONAL FOR THE HEALTHY EMOTIONAL, MENTAL, AND SPIRITUAL DEVELOPMENT OF YOUR DAUGHTER... *especially* in the context of the mixed-up, messed-up, and up-side-down thinking of...

3.0 out of 5 stars Mixed blessing
This book started off so well. In fact, I was enjoying the beginning and middle portions so much I purchased several copies for friends and family. Unfortunately, the end of the book takes a bit of a nose-dive. It is clear throughout the book that the author has suffered a terrible personal loss... though she never directly states it, it is implied that perhaps her...

*especially* in the context of the mixed-up, messed-up, and up-side-down thinking of the world you are entering! Yes, it can be a beautiful world, but we must first understand God's definition of "beautiful" before we can accurately understand ~ and apply to our own hearts and lives ~ "BEAUTY."

Angela's writing style is DELIGHTFUL!!! Warm, conversational, and she has an endearing way of drawing us in to the place she is wanting to take us ~ which ultimately is into the arms of JESUS!!!!! He ALONE has the right, the power and the wisdom to declare us "beautiful" ~ in ways that GOD sees as being "the point"!

You will be changed forever after reading ~ and receiving ~ the sweet truths in this book, and will laugh, and cry, along the way!

This review is from: Do You Think I'm Beautiful? : The Question Every Woman Asks (Hardcover)
I was buying a Christmas present for my mom and looking through the selection of Christian books, and the title of this book caught my eye. Beauty is something that I have always struggled with. Self-esteem is just not something that I naturally have a lot of. This book changed my life. I can honestly say that it drew me closer to God and began to teach me how to find my worth in HIM rather than in the WORLD. I cannot urge you enough to buy this book. Especially if beauty is something you struggle with. You won't regret buying this book.

This is an excellent book and easy to read, except that it touches so many of the questions in a woman's heart, that you have to stop and reflect and dry your eyes often. Angela Thomas has dared to voice out loud the longings and questions that most women hold in their heart, maybe for all of their lives. The desire to be cherished and thought beautiful underscores so much of what we do (and don't do) as women. Angela doesn't only ask the question, but provides a resounding answer that brings us face to face with the only one who can answer honestly. I think this is a "must read" for women of all ages and especially teenage girls. I wish I had read it thirty years ago. It could have made a big difference in my life a long time ago.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing Help for an Overwhelming Problem, January 26, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Do You Think I'm Beautiful? : The Question Every Woman Asks (Hardcover)
Every woman (and many husbands) needs to read this book and get copies to friends ASAP. My wife just finished it and I was compelled to write this after she shared it with me.

I am one who has both a wife and a mother who wrestle deeply with this issue. As a husband and even as a son I have often felt an overwhelming responsibility to attempt to fill a void that has seemed bottomless. My attempts with words and presents have often failed or most often seemed to last for just a brief moment. I have always wondered why?

Angela's life experience and teaching illustrates vividly all the things women do to attempt to answer a core issue.

My wife found comfort, common bond, peace and a real answer to a life long struggle.

We had the privilege of getting and advance copy of this book. Now She is giving Do You Think I'm Beautiful to friend after friend.

I am thrilled she has read and applied its message. I understand my wife more than ever from having read it. Men read this book and pass it on to your wife. Wives read this book and HIGHLIGHT it for your husbands!

5.0 out of 5 stars Life-changing..a must read!, November 14, 2003

This review is from: Do You Think I'm Beautiful? : The Question Every Woman Asks (Hardcover)
This book is truly life-changing. It was recommended to me by my counselor, and it really deals with the search every woman has for love. We look to our husband, children, family, or job to provide the love and fulfillment that only He can provide. If you've been busy striving and trying to do everything, yet you still aren't satisfied, this book is for you. I think every woman should read it.

5.0 out of 5 stars What question is your soul asking, crying and searching for???, April 16, 2006
This book should be read by every woman and girl! Some people might be shying away from the title cuz they think well, I'm alright in the looks department, OR, well of course I'm not, no need to read THAT book!! Or they might just think it has nothing to do with them.

And Angela tells you you might be right!!

Your question might be different and might not be about being beautiful. You see, there are other questions your soul might be asking.

For me it was "Do you love me?" Based on my childhood of foster homes and multiple adoptions, it became a very critical part of who I am. Being bounced around so much it felt like nobody loved me at all, even if they 'said' they did. And the churches I grew up in were based on the fearful, wrathful God. That when you prayed you'd better make sure to ask forgiveness for every sin, and even for anything you might not be able to remember, just to be safe. THEN, and only then, you could ask God for something as long as you didn't really expect an answer cuz after all, He's busy and who did I think I was that God would pay attention to me? And have a "Personal" relationship? Oh no, I'm definitely not good enough!!

This book has really opened my eyes and shown me a whole new way to a relationship with God!! It's not about how perfect I am (which God knows I'm NOT) It's about being loved, unconditionally, all the time, no matter what, no matter where, no matter what I look like, feel like, or have done, thought and thought about doing! He just loves me, for me, thinks I'm the greatest, no matter what.

In our lives, we search for that kind of unconditional love relationship. Some are 'lucky' enough to find it. Some experience it for a short while. Some never do at all. I was lucky enough to find it in my mom. She's actually my SECOND adopted mother. I was placed for adoption at 3, adopted at 5. Placed for adoption again at 8 and adopted at 10. She's the mom I got when I was 10. I'm 32 now. Even though I've had 3 mothers in my life, she's my one and only mom. I know that no matter what she loves me. She's my #1 fan and support and thinks I'm the absolute greatest daughter. My husband also loves me very much and knows me very well. I'm a mom now myself and know that unconditional love of parents.

And yet, these relationships pale in to the one we have/can have with THE ONE. God knows EVERYTHING about me, every mood, every thought, every desire, hope and dream. He knows my weaknesses, my deep dark secrets I don't want anybody to know. And He loves me. He thinks I'm beautiful. He wants to dance with me and show me how beautiful He thinks I am, so that I will believe it too and live my life with intention, becoming the woman that He sees when He looks at me, the beautiful, confident, amazing person that I truly am.

Do you need this book? Absolutely! Who among you does not desire to be beautiful and lovely, to be known thoroughly inside and out, and be loved unconditionally? If you read this book, open your heart and spirit and ask God...what's my question? And then be willing to hear it and explore it and experience what only God can give you. You are a unique and beautiful woman, let God show you how much that's true!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Gift for Your Beautiful Self, June 12, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Do You Think I'm Beautiful? : The Question Every Woman Asks (Hardcover)
I was reluctant to purchase this book because of the title...but my previous experience with Angela's books overrode my doubts and I bought myself this present anyway. Am I glad I did! This book is a blessing. Filled with salient scripture passages, deeply honest personal reflections, and cover-to-cover inspiration, this is a work to be kept by the bedside and turned to again and again when doubt and weakness begin to settle in. Read slowly and with an open heart, to savor each beautifully turned phrase or carefully selected quotation. Even if you don't have a problem with accepting your physical self, you will be given permission here to really believe that you are ravishing in the eyes of God and that you are infinitely lovable and loved. And with that kind of love, you can live life fully and deeply. What a beautiful message of hope, love, and faith.

5.0 out of 5 stars Simply Beautiful, August 16, 2005
This review is from: Do You Think I'm Beautiful? : The Question Every Woman Asks (Hardcover)
As a 24 year old female knee deep in a battle of learning to see msyelf the way God sees me, Angela's book has ministered to my heart like few others. Most books on this topic are cliche and written by former beauty queens. Angela, though definately gorgeous, never leaves you feeling like you can't measure up. It was a refreshing new look at what beautiful really is. For the first time I realized wanting to be beautiful isn't just my desire, but the desire every woman has deep down. I would definately reccomend this book to any woman, and definately to other 20-somethings, who are trying to see what God says about them and where their ultimate worth comes from. This book is amazing. She's also a wonderful speaker if you ever get the chance to hear her!

This book really let me see the inside of me. I felt God talk to me so deeply. If you buy this book, buy the journal too. There is more information and deeper "conversation" in the journal. This is where I did most of my growing. We women have been taught not to ask the question, "Daddy, do you think I'm beautiful?" and that's why we hurt so much. We are the nurturers of the next generations. What will we produce in the future for the pains we've received in our lifetime? What will you produce?

5.0 out of 5 stars Incredible., October 13, 2003

This review is from: Do You Think I'm Beautiful? : The Question Every Woman Asks (Hardcover)
This book has been absolutely uplifting. It has opened my eyes to the truths that God has been wispering in my ear for years. I am beautiful in his eyes. With that, nothing else matters. Angela's excellent way of writing makes things real and understandable. She is honest, and addresses all of the things that we are afraid to. What if God doesn't say that he loves me? What if I am left alone forever? But the truth is that he will never leave us. He will always love us. Thank you so much Angela for being a vessle and allowing God to speak through your words!
