5.0 out of 5 stars Spectacular beggining to a spectacular career., April 25, 2004

To clarify what has been previously misled in other reviews. La Ley's first album is called "Desiertos" and it cant be found anywhere,if you are lucky enough to have it treasure it because there are many of us looking for it. Beto's first composition "Espina Feroz" is on that album. Also, "Doble Opuesto" came before "La Ley", unlike other reviews claim. This album is a classic, 13 years since it has been released and the only thing it lacked for it to be a giant was its publicity and airtime. La Ley delivers a great introductory attempt that will set the mark for an incredible evolvement in spanish rock. "Prisioneros De La Piel" is a great song that describes the aging of a Father from a son's perspective, and how he is ready to meet his death. The best song "Solo Ideales" is La Ley's greatest song ever, as it shares the thoughts of many of us to change the world, and make it a better place, but describes just that, thoughtless actions. "Angie" is a remake cover of the Rolling Stones that with time I grew to admire more than then original. Songs like "A Veces", "Doble Opuesto" and "Desiertos", let you glide through the album enjoying different aspects of Bobe's great guitar playing, while also enjoying the bands dedicated and above averaged singer Beto Cuevas. A must have album for any latin rock lover. Too bad for its small success at the time of release, because this album would of given prodigal Soda Stereo some airplay and market competition.

4.0 out of 5 stars I don't have the cd yet, January 31, 2004

This review is from: Doble Opuesto (Audio CD)
but I will be getting it in the future. I love la Ley. Okay I will put it bottom line. You are like if you do not own it then how rate it. And I will say because I have heard almost all the songs on this cd because I have the Grandes Extios which I am going to give to my friend after I bye all the cds from La Ley. I decided that I would rather have all there cds instead because like I said I love La Ley. I have heard songs 1.2.3.5.6.8.9.10 and they are all great songs. I will tell you a little about La Ley even though I am not from Chile but my friend is. Okay la Ley formed in 1989 and they did not start singing untill 1993. In the begining there where 4 guys but they lost a guatiest named Andres Bobe in 1994. He passed away in a car accient. Very sad and it must have been very hard for Beto to lose a man in his group. But life goes on and so did the ley and they made this cd after A.B. passed away and other cds in the future. There lateset cd is Libertad. I did not know this group untill 2002. They are very good and I can tell you that if you get this cd you won't be dissapointed with the songs I listed above in the numbers. The others I have not yet heard myself so I will not make a coment on those yet. but when I have heard the other ones then I will rerate the cd and give 5 stars. Other wise It will stay with 4 stars. Thanks alot
