Do not buy this CD if you are looking for the song "One and Only" which is played at the beginning. If you want that song, it is by Chesney Hawkes and is called "One and Only".

This is one soundtrack to NOT buy. It leaves out almost all the songs that were in the movie including the best one: "I Am The One And Only." The only song that's from the movie is "Crazy" and it was only in the movie for five seconds! In my opinion Warner Brothers needs to take this CD and remake the whole thing.

This is a great score, which simply makes for very pleasant listening. Burwell adapts part of Prokofiev's Lt Kije Suite nicely for a couple of tracks, but mostly creates original light-hearted music which captures so well the spirit of Doc Hollywood, a sort of modern day Frank Capra movie.

I get so tired of so called soundtracks that are nothing more than a collection of songs that happened to be played in the background of a movie, rather than the incidental music composed specifically for the movie. That being said, I am glad that "Crazy" by Patsy Cline was used, but was disappointed that "I Am the One and Only" was omitted.

If you like the mood set in the movie, I recommend this soundtrack.

This CD is missing the best song from the movie - The One and Only. The rest is just fluff.

I bought this CD and saw that the song One And Only is missing. I down loaded it from the net and burned it off on a disc and then burned the Doc Hollywood soundtrack on there too. It's a great CD now!

Unlike the other reviewers, I got this CD for the instrumental music by Carter Burwell. While this music is very good, they cut up different versions of the same song (Lady in the Lake) and made them VERY short tracks. Other than that I enjoyed the CD.

This is a good soundtrack of the movie Doc Hollywood. That is, it is mostly cues - small bits of songs, not complete works. Only a film score usually contains complete works. Yes, it is missing one song - "One and Only" performed by Chesney Hawkes - which played over the opening title credits, but that's not the big loss other reviewers make it out to be.

Why four stars and not five? Because while it does deliver all the tracks of a soundtrack, it is not filmscore with complete songs. I really would have preferred that to be available. There were some background songs in the movie that I wished to hear in their entirety. Maybe the composer never wrote complete songs?
