Great bondage rope!,

This review is from: Doc Johnson Japanese Bondage Rope, Purple (Health and Beauty)
This is a great bondage rope, and at quite a good price. The only cons I can see to it is the fact that the ends are not "burnt" or glued or anything. It is soft to the touch and doesnt burn when you pull it. I think that if you are a beginner like me, you should at least have one 30ft rope (like this one) and a bunch of 6-12 ft ones. This one is longer and thus harder to handle, but is necessary for some cool bondage stuff.

Nice, Soft Rope,

If you're looking for a good rope to start out on, this would be a good option to consider. This rope is soft and flexible. It is wide enough that it won't cut into the skin and soft enough that it feels nice. For those who have a bit more experience in this area, one thing about this rope that might influence your decision to buy it is that it is not perfectly round rope. It is sort of a flat rope (without being flat or flimsy in any way). It still works very nicely but when tying certain knots, keeping the rope from twisting is just another inconvenience. Also, the softness means that decorative knots take more time to make (having to tighten it up little sections at a time to make it look right). If you're not concerned with appearances, then these factors shouldn't bother you. It's an excellent rope. The ends do not come wrapped, so it is necessary for you to do it yourself or the rope will fray. Simply use some electrical tape and cut. Ta-da, problem solved.

Not "Japanese Rope" !!,

We are experienced Shibari ("Japanese") inspired artists. This is NOT Japanese rope. Japanese bondage rope is a natural fiber, typically Jute rope...NOT this soft Cotton/MFP. Not that that is bad...just not what they sat it is. This rope is about .33 cents a foot...You can get the same thing WITH finished ends from places like Garr Ropes or rainbow rope for the same price..or even cheaper and get custom lengths!!! OR go down to home Depot, Lowe's, Menard's etcand buy it for even cheaper! I have had this rope in my hand....it is just a cheap cotton rope.

Great quiality rope that is comfortable (so my wife says) to wear. She has yet to try it on me! The material is very soft so it doesn't irritate the skin. There are many websites which teach you how to use this rope in very creative ways. A lot of fun has been, and will be had.

this rope is long! much longer than i thought. the rope is nice and soft on the skin, she has not complained about pinching or rope burn yet...maybe because she has a gag in....the only downside is the ends are not finished, nothing that a lighter couldn't fix.

... not much else to say, this is overpriced cheap cotton rope, and calling it "Japanese Bondage Rope" is a bit dishonest at best.

This rope is very soft against the skin so its comfortable for the person being tied down. This can also be a downside too, because the rope is so soft its a bit stretchy so knots tend to slip. Another minor downside after using this rope, the wife and I noticed a lot of black fibers all over the bedsheets. Besides all of that, the wife and I enjoyed the rope and would recommend it for any beginners looking to getting into rope bondage.

Price is reasonable, but product is only so so. The rope is soft and appears comfortable when in place. However, the ends are not finished and look to easily fray with repeated use. Rope also shows signs of breaks along its length which will lead to more fraying. All in all, it's okay for a beginner, but not what an experienced rope artist would want. I plan to tape the ends to prevent fraying. Dipping in latex could also be used. Would not buy again and intend to look for a better quality rope.

Rope Frayed!!!,

This review is from: Doc Johnson Japanese Bondage Rope, Black (Health and Beauty)
As soon as I got this product, it was frayed. I haven't used it yet, and it looks sturdy enough. But how good can the quality be if it's frayed right out of the box??
