Dock Connector to USB 2.0 Cable for Apple iPod / Apple iPhone

I was looking for an inexpensive cord for my ipod and iphone. I specifically wanted one with a plug shaped like the Apple cord so that it would fit into my iphone with the case on. Most of what I've seen here on Amazon has a rectangular plug which will not fit with a case on. So far this fits the bill. I was pleasantly suprised when the shape was right. The cord worked well when I plugged it in last night to charge and the company shipped it quickly. My only concern has been that the plug fits tightly. My husband this morning thought it was stuck so I had to show him it was a new cord and that you really have to pull to get it out. At first I thought it didn't fit, but if you give it a good push it'll go in. Again, it works great and was just what I was looking for at a great price, the tightness just makes me a little apprehensive. So far so good...

A colleague and I have been comparing several cables - the problem is many of them (particularly the ones with the telescopic reel) is that they fail over time- they may charge with just power but the data syncing stops working.

This cable fits REALLY snug with the 3GS and 3G iPhone. It is built solidly and looks just like the OEM model - the dock connector is nice and short - the picture in the item isn't as short as the one I received- I'll post a picture.

I purchased this because the original cable I got with my iPhone basically started falling a part, connectors starting to come off, and then it started to spark so I had to replace it. Now I'm not a active user, so the wear and tear that it had succumbed too so fast surprised me. Well I was searching Amazon for cheap a replacement because I knew I wasn't getting another Apple one because it doesn't last then I came across this one, I saw the reviews and the price and thought what the heck? Best decision I made, the cord is very durable and so are the connectors, I do the same activities I did before and still the cord survives. Yes the cord sticks a little but for something that costs a little over $2 it works way better than its predecessor! My only gripe is yes I wish the cable was longer but other than that it's great!

My wife's iphone has a bulky case, and she doesn't have to take it off to use this kind of cord.

Looks like and is packaged as if it's an authentic iPhone cable, but it's not. It works when used with the AC adapter, but does not work with USB on computer. Oh well - just turns into a dedicated AC plug.

The one issue with this dock connector is that the end that connects to the iPhone has 2 sharp (not curved as with the original connector that comes with the iPhone) springs that can catch inside the iPhone slot. Then the connector "locks into" the iPhone. I had a hard time removing it; in fact, I felt that I might damage the phone. I decided to shell out the extra money to buy the device from the Apple online store.

These are just as good as the ones directly from apple, i would say there better. These have more rubber where it goes to the connector end to your iphone, as the apple stock one currently do not. Overall I recommend these to anyone in need of these. GREAT PRICE TOO, CAN'T BEAT THAT! $30 or $5, what would you choose?

I bought five of these cables from the OEM Shop via Amazon for less than a Hamilton for the whole bunch, fully expecting some ridiculous cables that looked nothing like the stock Apple cable. What a pleasant surprise -- these are pretty close, if not exact replicas, of the Apple cables. Based on the reviews here, I suspect that the different vendors might have physically different units. These guys seem to be based somewhere out of Brooklyn (at least the return label suggested), but the delivery was pretty speedy via USPS mail. I swear up and down that I do not work for these guys nor do I know them personally -- but if I do meet them (and if the cables are still working when I do), I will give them a pat on the back.

Right out of the envelope, they're indistinguishable from the actual apple cables. The iPhone/iPod connector fits a bit more snugly than the official connector, but cosmetically, I'm hard-pressed to figure out what the difference is between these and the regular cables. That said, here are two differences:
1. When I unwound them entirely, it appears that the official Apple USB cable is about 1-2" shorter than these. The texture, feel, etc. otherwise is
2. The USB side is a squared-off (though still rounded-appearing when viewed on-end); the official Apple USB side is fully rounded.

Charging and syncing seem to work fine.

So, $19 from Apple Store vs. 2 bucks or so for these? Yeah, no contest. Even if these break, I'm not going to cry... whereas my original Apple cable is already beginning to show signs of wear at the joint between the iPod/iPhone connector and the cable.

I was a bit skepetical buying after reading other reviews. I'm VERY happy I ordered anyway. Came in 4 days and work flawlessly. If these aren't the real thing, they sure look like it. Feel solid. My USB chargers from Apple are breaking away at the USB connector. These are great, cheap replacements. Both made in China.
