5.0 out of 5 stars Great Shoes
I had tried the Black version of these shoes and found them to be the best shoes for work I had ever had. The Red Brown is just the same. I have a bad walk with my feet turning out somewhat and I usually wear out shoes fast and they hurt after walking a while. These last great and have more cushioning then any shoe I have ever tried on. Many say they have air cushions...

3.0 out of 5 stars Comfortable, but bad soles
These shoes are really comfortable, but I am amazed at the wear on the sole already, the first day.

I highly recommend if you need a shoes with great cushioning. And this companies shipping was amazingly fast.

4.0 out of 5 stars Red Brown Dockers Bastille Oxford Shoes, March 29, 2009
Great shoe. Minor problem is the lip of the heel seems to sometimes rub against the back of my ankle. It feels irritating at times, but I haven't developed any blisters, even after standing and walking in them for 7 hours straight. I supposedly picked the correct size too, because I can easily slip one finger in between the back of the shoe and my heel. Maybe it's half a size too big. I ordered 10 M Men. But they're always different between shoe brands. I'm not going to return them though. It's good stuff, and I'm satisfied.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Shoes, February 24, 2008

I purchased my first pair about 2 years ago and loved them. They are incredibly comfortable, almost to the point of prefering these shoes over my sneakers. After they began to show some heavy wear I decided to buy another pair.
I was unable to find this shoe in the stores for one reason or another. After a few searches I was pleased to find them! These are the Docker's Pro-Styles which stretch to your movement. You can't find a more comfortable semi-formal pair of shoes.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very, very comfortable., October 26, 2009

Just received these today. I must say they are incredibly comfortable. I'm not sure about the pebbled leather styling yet. I usually like a smooth leather with more of a matte finish. I'm sure they will dull somewhat over time. I suffer from planar fasciitis in one foot so the support and cushioning of the heel was more important to me anyway. I could feel an immediate difference between these and the Target economy dress shoes I was wearing. Hopefully the cushioning will not flatten out over-time. All-in-all I'm very happy with the purchase. These were priced at $85 at one popular retailer so I feel I received a very good deal.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very comfortable, dressy, work shoes., February 13, 2012

I'm a wedding photographer and I wear these shoes when I work. I'm on my feet for literally 8-10 hours during a wedding. Sometimes the only chance I get to sit down is at the reception - and only for a few minutes. For the rest of the day I'm walking, kneeling, and climbing with 20-30lbs of gear. In general, this is very tiring and hard on my feet and joints. Regular dress shoes kill my feet (they are sore for days, literally). These shoes are far gentler. While nice by themselves, I use them with a slim insole for even more padding. Note that the heel on these shoes is fairly low so you won't be able to run a very thick insole without your heel slipping. A thinner one is fine though and really makes these shoes comfy for demanding days.

In addition to ample padding, the sole of these shoes is as flexible as many tennis shoes. The compliant sole reduces stress points on your foot even further.

As far as looks go, the best way I can describe them is "modest". There are far fancier and better looking dress shoes out there, but they are either far more expensive, far more uncomfortable, or both. That said, these shoes are dressy enough to match well with black dress pants, fitted shirt, and tie.

The finish of the shoes has some texture to it. This is good because it hides creases and scuffs better than highly polished shoes. I find that while working I scuff my shoes up a fair amount. This would be heart breaking if the shoes were some fancy, $300 polished Italian leather shoes, but they aren't. These shoes polish right up with a little shoe oil and continue to look great.

If you find yourself working on your feet a lot and need to look good doing it, these shoes are a great investment.

5.0 out of 5 stars My Most Comfortable Work Shoe. Price is "Fair", April 28, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This shoe seems almost too comfortable for its use, which is exactly how I like it. The black leather has a nice shine and quality look. I don't think it counts as a truly formal shoe because the stitching is white, but that's not as salient a feature as it might sound.

The shoe itself is definitely longer in the toe than typical business casual shoes, a style matter. It's not so long as to make walking awkward at all. The sole is thick for being flexible (more on that below). There is elastic material in the upper that helps with comfort.

The trick to keeping this shoe looking good is to use "sole edge" on the heel and sole edges. That's because the visible heel and sole edge are a rubber kind of material, not hard leather, and if scuffed will make this shoe look like dressed up sneakers. Sole edge is not easy to find anymore but you can get it here: Kiwi Leather Heel and Sole Edge Color Renew. Unfortunately, this sole edge requires a shipping fee at this time, however - and shipping costs more than the product.

The price is not great but it's fair, in my opinion. I saw this shoe for $5 more at my local discount shoe store (Amazon doesn't want store names in reviews). But at that store there are often deals such as second pair half off. Wearing shoes like this will extend the life of one's joints. On that basis especially, I recommend it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great looking shoe, comfy & great price too!, April 8, 2010
This shoe is really nice looking...great color, moderate shine (not too shiny but not matte), and very comfortable. All this for a really reasonable price! Compares to shoes twice the price in looks and quality!

I've had this shoes for a little over a month now, and I have to say there great! I don't usually buy shoes from the internet since I've had at least one ther experience where the fit was just not there, and nothing beats tryieng them out yourself at a shoe store, but in this case I had no problem! They fit great, true to size, I se them around 3-4 day a week for looong office hours and tehy hold up great, highly recommended.

Been wearing red and black Bastilles for the last 3 years. Decided to buy some more, fearing that they will soon be discontinued if not already. Very comfortable everyday dress shoe.
