I've just purchased my third pair of these shoes in the last 5 years. I love the feel and look of the shoes, they are as comfortable as anything I've ever worn in this category

My only critiques of the shoe are that like others have said, the sole wears down quickly. When I had a job that required a lot of walking, these shoes barely lasted a year. Now that I'm at a desk job, they last between 2-3 years. That said, it is not stopping me from investing in a new pair as soon as I feel the support go out.

Secondly, the metal eyelets at the top of the laces wear down the shoelace over time. The laces that come with the shoe don't last too long, 5-6 months top, but the cheap pair of 27" kiwi laces last a year or more. Of course, it may just be me pulling them too tight, but it has been an issue for me.

I am extremely pleased with this shoe. I am a teacher so I'm on my feet a lot, and this shoe is sooo comfortable. Plus, the colour is "rich", adding a sophisticated look to my attire. Shipping was smooth and it arrived a day early. I would recommend this shoe to anyone and I would buy it again.

UPDATE: So, this is March, and I've been wearing this shoe every day for a month and a half or so. The soles on these shoes wear down TOO quickly! The soles look like i've been wearing the shoe for like 6 months. So far this is the most negative thing that i've noticed about the shoe and this also means that i'll have to be shopping around for another shoe very soon. #dissapointed

I really like the comfort of these shoes, but the soles wore down to completely smooth in no time. I still wear them because I haven't found anything as comfortable to replace them, but not happy with how quicly they wore down.

I think the shoes look great. They were exactly what I was looking for. They aren't comfortable, but they're not exactly uncomfortable either. My major problem with them is that they wore out rather quickly. I've owned these shoes for 6 months now and I wear them about 3 times a week. The tread on the shoes is nearly gone. They are quite dangerous when walking on wet surfaces. I would not recommend these shoes unless you plan on replacing them in 6 months.

Just like Timberland , seems to me Dockers is going the way of the dogs.... The cheap china-way one,THAT IS !!!
That intially nice- looking rubber sole lasted barely 3 mos. before turning to a dangerously slippery Formula One type of tires. As to that legendary ,overly hyped-out Dockers comfort , you'll be lucky if it lasts you to the middle of the day .
Worst part is , other reviewers warned against this pair , but I guess I had to find out on my own !

I'm disappointed with these shoes and I'm returning them. Unlike the pictures, the shoes to me seem to have a bulky, industrial and boxy look. Also, the leather does not have the rich soft appearance as in the pictures. The leather for the uppers is very dull and looks synthetic, All over the tags and labels that came with the shoes there is printed "stain defenders," "repels most water-based spills for easy care." I suspect that the leather for the uppers is treated with something that may very well repel water, but that whatever the treatment is, it also dulls the finish of the leather. I was looking for shoes to replace a pair that I wear casually and sometimes even with a blazer and tie for a sporty look. These shoes are not for that. Also, and this is my fault for not reading the desciption thoroughly when it says "faux" leather lining, the lining definitely is synthetic. The printing on the tongue describes it as "balman-made material," whatever that means. Yes, I wear synthetic materials in shoes such as sneakers, but I avoid it in other shoes.

I'm giving these shoes three stars mainly for the reason that they don't look at all like the pictures. I can't really go lower because they are inexpensive and you get what you pay for. Perhaps I should have known better for expecting all leather shoes for this price.

I am currently wearing my second pair of these shoes. They are super comfortable and the uppers super tough. However, the soles wear out much too quickly. I walk a lot and find the soles are "shot" in about six months. I took the first pair to a shoe shop for re-soling but they wanted 55 dollars so it was cheaper to get a new pair of shoes. Also, the laces do not last but that is easily fixed. I think the shoes look great, a bit shiny at first but after a while the shine goes away and they look fantastic. Good shoes with khaki pants for office work and good shoes to wear with shorts for walking. They are indeed the most comfortable and lightest shoes I have ever worn! Sorry about the soles, though. If the soles were better I would give these shoes a rating of five stars.

The comfort level of these shoes is neither great nor poor, just average. What does stick out however is shoe life. These shoes lasted less than six months, where I usually get 12-18 months out of a pair of timberlands or Doc Martens. The insole wore through in about two months and and the tread was worn completely flat at the end of six months. The laces continually shifted to one side. Overall, not impressed at all. Now wearing a pair of Cabelas house brand oxfords that are head and shoulders better.

I have had a pair of these shoes for a few years, and I liked the look and the walking comfort.

I ordered a new pair from Amazon, and when these arrived in early March, I opened the package and thought they looked great. However, I did not wear them immediately since there was a lot of snow on the ground. When I wore the shoes a couple of days ago, I found they made a loud squeaking noise when I walk. I thought this would go away after some use and wore them to work for a day. However, the noise was pretty noticeable and didn't show any signs of fading. This pair of shoes cannot be used. Unfortunately when I went to the site to return the shoes, I was informed it was too late to return them.

The shoes are obviously of very poor quality, and I am terribly disappointed with Dockers. I have been a regular Amazon customer, and have recently subscribed to Prime as well. I do hope Amazon can do something to mitigate the loss and the inconvenience.

I keep buying these shoes because, like other reviewers, I love how they feel. It finally dawned on me after several pairs to use rubber heel plates so the soles don't wear out so fast. I buy rubber plates with adhesive (and nails, which I don't use) from Amazon, multiple sets to the box. I ignore the already added adhesive and put the plates on using an inexpensive tube of Loctite stik 'n seal outdoor adhesive, available at most hardware stores. The plates wear out in a month or so and I replace them using more Loctite.
