5.0 out of 5 stars A Pleasant Surprise, March 19, 2009
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Docomodake BOING! (Video Game)
I picked this up expecting a silly platformer that my nephew and I could enjoy. While it delivered in that regard I was pleasantly surprised to find myself thoroughly engaged in the game. It starts out as a simple Mario-like platformer with simple levels and puzzles but before I knew it I was transfixed. As the game progresses puzzles become extremely clever and coupled with the platforming elements, create a most enjoyable experience. It's never too difficult and my nephew had no problem grasping the game. It had great pick up and play ability so we could play as long or as little as we wanted to. I was also happy to see various unlockables and secret stages appear as we went through the game as well. I highly recommend this to those looking for a unique and well executed platformer for the DS that you and your family can enjoy.

5.0 out of 5 stars This is a great little game!, March 28, 2009
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Docomodake BOING! (Video Game)
I like platformer games but tend to be not-so-great at them. I mostly play RPG or puzzle type games. This game is quite fun. It is not overly complicated but it is not too easy. The graphics are fine and the little "movie" in the beginning is really very cute. I found the stylus controls to be exceptionally tight--and in a platformer this is really not an optional thing! It has enough tutorial that you are not spending endless amounts of time trying to figure things out which I can appreciate. I think this would be suitable for any age from about 5 up--there isn't really much reading as there are "pictures" to show you what to do so even a non reading 7 year old would likely be fine with this. There is no violence that I've encountered either which is a bonus for all us parents.

Overall I highly recommend. I think you would be very happy with this game for the amount you'll spend. I am particularly fond of the fact it saves after each piece of the level--unlike Mario games where death means going back to the beginning (again and again and again). You can replay levels you've done to higher the score. In terms of replay value I don't think it is something that will generate multiple replays from you---but for the price does it really need to? I operate under the assumption (your mileage may vary!) that a game for twenty bucks isn't going to provide a lot of replay.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun but way too easy., September 12, 2009
= Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Docomodake BOING! (Video Game)
I bought this game for my daughter and she really liked it, but was able to get through it and solve it within one and a half days. She is 10-years-old and it was way too easy for her. But, I recommend it for younger children.
