3.0 out of 5 stars Nessie opposes North Sea Oil, November 30, 2000
This review is from: Doctor Who and the Loch Ness Monster (Doctor Who Library) (Paperback)
The second season of Tom Baker Doctor Who stories kicked off with this: the Doctor brings Sarah and Harry back to modern-day Earth as the Brigadier has summoned him using a recall device the Doctor has supplied him. And so onto the shores of Loch Ness, where a series of mysterious circumstances await them.

Oil rigs have been destroyed without explanation (although the Doctor shows, by use of Plaster of Paris) that something with very big teeth is responsible. Are the stories of the Loch Ness Monster true?

One of the problems with this novelisation of 'Terror of the Zygons' is that we don't get to see the excellent on-screen realisation of the Zygons (well, at least their leader, Broton). Terrance Dicks does a fair job of adapting the story, but the visuals are sadly missed. Except the Skarasen. The written version is much better than what we saw on TV!

5.0 out of 5 stars I wish I had this book!, February 19, 1999
By A Customer
I wish I had this book! I think the Loch Ness Monster is way cool! I think, instead of it being a he, or a she prehistoric monster, it's really a far-out-spacenut of an alien submarine with billions of microscopic aliens riding along inside it with plans of taking over the world despite Doctor Who, and The Lone Ranger, and Tonto's, and Spock's, and Batman and Robin's and Captain Marvel's, and Tarzan's best efforts to stop them. Some people, along with some know-it-all scientist say that he's a long lizard-shaped fish. I am certain that they're sooooooooo wrong!
