I just received my Adipose stress toy and love it. Yes there is a different smell to him, not bad, just a little strange. He is very sticky though, but I have a solution for you. Rinse in cold water, dry thoroughly (pay special attention to his little armpits) and then place him in a bag with a little cornstarch. Shake vigorously and then tap off the extra when you remove him. Voila, no more sticky!!! This also tames the smell a little bit. Far more user friendly my husband says. Much nicer now to have him on my desk and randomly squeeze.

The Adipose stress toy is bigger than most stress balls, and a very good representation of the cute little aliens from Doctor Who. It is very very squeezable, but the "goes back to its original shape" claim is a little off. It either takes a long time or doesn't happen, depending on what position you leave the little guy in. It's easy enough to hand-mold him back into shape, though. He's not solid foam, more of a balloon material partially filled with a flour-like substance. His surface is a bit tacky to the touch, but washable with soapy water. He smells a bit funny. But for all those little drawbacks, I really don't care. He's just what I wanted in an Adipose.

When I saw this Adipose Stress Toy, I needed it! When I received this Adipose Stress Toy, I was a bit disappointed. For one, the little mouth is barely painted on (it really looks terrible) and one of the eyes is very smudged (it's more like a feathered oval than a circle). For the price tag, this thing should look awesome! Two, this little guy smells very badly of rubbery chemical-ness. Three, it is very tacky when you squeeze it (like if you threw it at the wall it would probably stick) and it picks up all kinds of little fuzzies and what-not. I understand that it's a little glob of fat, but still! I wish that it looked as adorable as it does in the picture, but sadly, it does not :(

I love my Adipose. Definitely the right texture for a fat cell LOL. It is pretty sticky though and picks up dust easily. I leave mine in the box most of the time so it does not get dirty.

This is a really cute doll, and you just want to squeeze it. However, the quality is extremely poor. My first doll leaked out of a hole in the foot. While going through the Amazon return process, we went ahead and ordered a replacement. Well, the replacement also leaks out of a hole in the foot. The problem is the way they made the foot seam. It is done very poorly, obviously, since they didn't get the entire seam sealed. The gunk inside can squeeze out if you actually use it as a stress doll. Further, air is easily squeezed out, and then the gunk isn't airy and fluffy so the doll looks like the fat is drying out. It's a shame, because it's otherwise cool -- in fact, my daughter (it was a present) isn't sure she wants to return it again, she's thinking about gluing the feet and trying to seal it up that way. I guess when you are two-for-two in bad product, you lose hope that you could get one that works. I'd like to keep trying, and maybe I'll convince her to go around one more time. SO long as Amazon lets us return defective dolls, I guess we could keep this up until the company decided it cost too much to keep paying for shipping and actually did something about the quality issues.

So I got this from Think Geek and it's a great looking little toy, there's just one small problem-- this thing smells awful. I can't leave it anywhere near my desk or it stinks up my entire cube. I even tried washing him with soapy water and that did nothing to help the smell. A month later of him sitting out and he still smells bad.He now has to live up near the ceiling where his stench can't bother anybody and sadly can't be squeezed.

It's a cute toy but not worth $25 bucks!! Its way to sticky so it gets stuff stuck to it like crazy! Its not much of a stress toy either. Its way to soft to be a stress toy . but overall i guess its ok.

Bought this adipose at a local store yesterday, and yes when I took it out of the box it was a bit sticky and smelled of fresh rubber, but seriously, just dust it with corn starch. a thin layer of corn starch will fix both problems INSTANTLY. my adipose is now a very soft and nice texture. I definitely recommend getting this product, one of the best purchases I've made in a long time, I am completely happy with this product 100%

Bought this for my boyfriend for Christmas, it broke within 4 hours. We weren't squeezing it hard just admiring it and gently squeezing it (it's a stress toy you should be able to gently squeeze it at the very least) popped within 4 hours. There is a defect in the foot where all the goo popped out. Very, very disappointed. It's super cute and we're huge doctor who fans, but not worth the buy if you can't even squeeze a stress toy
