Yet another high quality Sonic Screwdriver replica from the folks at Character Options. Works great and the sound is louder than the older Ninth and Tenth Doctor Sonics. Also, inserting the batteries is MUCH simpler with this replica than those Sonics, or the Eleventh Doctor's Sonic.

Downsides? The emitter end feels like it COULD be kind of flimsy. Just something to keep in mind if you're carrying this Screwdriver around with you in a coat pocket or whatnot - and they do warn you in the instructions not to handle it by the emitter. And this is kind of a nitpick, but I wish they'd use some different sound effects in these then the same ones used in the modern ones.

Overall though, I'm very happy that Character managed to get the licenses to start making replicas of Doctor Who stuff from before the 2005 series. Like I said in the title, any fan of "Classic" Doctor Who should own one of these!

This, as you should know, is Tom Baker's Sonic Screwdriver. I know we all wish it could do what Tom's does, but unfortunately have to settle for the toy version. It's fun to pretend though, and I received this in good time and love it.

This item would make a great cosplay accessory or gift for the serious "Doctor Who" fan. I would buy it for a adult only though (or a teen mature enough to take care of it). Fantastic to look at or lightly enjoy, but not for children to play with.

THE COOLEST Doctor Who toy I have ever gotten as a present from my children. My childhood is now complete. As a kid I always wanted Tom Baker's sonic screwdriver. This toy has completed my life. It is everything I have always wished for. It feels right and it makes the original sounds. Now my kids want me to build a TARDIS so we can really play Doctor Who. I high recommend this toy for the kid at heart and fan favorite of the 4th Doctor. You will not be disappointed with this purchase to add to your Whovian collection.

A very nice replica of Tom Baker's sonic screwdriver. It alternates between two sounds each time it is activated. A definite must for any 4th Doctor costume. The only downside is the possible durability of it. It is made of lightweight plastic and the whole tip from the black baffles up to the head have no real solid support and can be wiggled back and forth with your fingers. The head has edges that could be caught on something and if you are not careful, snap the whole head off.

But given that, it is a great prop to have in your collection or costume.

I own the 11th Doctor's Sonic Screwdriver and it is awesome. I have given the 10th Doctor's one as a gift and it was much appreciated. However, I wished I could come across the 4th Doctor's (Tom Baker)Sonic Screwdriver since he is the one who started me out with the Doctor Who universe. And, Yes! Here it is! While it doesn't have the great look of #11 or the bells and whistles of #11 & #10, it is still really cool looking. So, if you want to complete your collection or just really love THE best Doctor ever, once again, Tom Baker, you must own this Sonic Screwdriver!

An essential tool in the Doctors array of items necessary for saving the day on a daily basis, the sonic screwdriver is perhaps the Doctors most valuable device after his TARDIS of course. This screwdriver will not open locks or fix broken alien technology, but it does look quite like the original prop and it does produce a noise you would expect the fourth Doctors sonic to make. I would gladly recommend the toy to collectors, cos-players and Whovians alike.

I have the sonic screwdriver sold as the one for Doctor Who 3rd. Looking at the picture of this one I believe the two differ only in the emitter head and the lack of some colored tape on this one.
