4.0 out of 5 stars Davros - Daleks = Still something
Big Finish's audio Davros continues the series of solo adventures featuring the Doctor and a key foe running from episodes 47-49. 5th and Omega (Doctor Who), 6th and Davros and 7th and the Master (Doctor Who) leading to the big anniversary episode Zagreus (Doctor Who) featuring them all with the 8th and 3rd doctors.

We find Davros being revived by a historian...

3.0 out of 5 stars Decent
Not a terrible adventure but the whole presentation is diminished by the constant & preechy demonizing of corporations and capitalism. It seems silly but not 5 minutes passes before another shot is taken at the vile disease that is the free market. If I wanted Karl Marx, I know where to find him. With Doctor Who, I am after quality Sci Fi. The writer here obviously has a...

We find Davros being revived by a historian who maintains that he is misunderstood by history. We see the Doctor's trying to warn them what Davros actually is and the suggestion that Davros' genius can be utilized for the good of humanity.

There are interesting psychological hits to the character. His never having a meal that wasn't pills for example and trying to understand how the corporate world works. Davros being Davros he gets the idea pretty quickly and it seems to carry it over to his next Big Finish appearance in The Juggernauts (Doctor Who).

It is a very interesting adventure that raises the level of the character. Very much worth your time.

One note of interest: Chronologically it is the earliest of the big finish adventures featuring the 6th doctor.

With Doctor Who, I am after quality Sci Fi. The writer here obviously has a bone to pick with the corporate world. Odd that he would choose both Doctor Who and the BBC to voice his ideas, seemingly supporting a huge corporate enterprise with more profit.

A final note: The actor playing Davros is excellent as usual. He should have his own show.
