We've got a 10 year-old who is a BIG Dr. Who fan. (Not that mom and dad aren't, but we wouldn't get much mileage out of an action figure :)So, for her birthday we purchased some of these figures and they are amazingly good. For one thing there are multiple joints. Three for legs and three for the arms. For example, there's a joint at the Doctor's wrist so his hand can rotate, one at the elbow, and one at the shoulder. For the legs there are joints at the knee, hip, and one mid-thigh which allows you to turn his foot out or in, allowing for very realistic posing. As far as the face, it's nicely done but not a carbon copy of the real thing. The costume though is wonderful. The scarf is long and flexible, as is his coat. By the way, we purchased Indiana Jones figures for my son for his birthday, but there's really no comparison. The Dr. Who figures are much sturdier and much better done. And I'm thinking about getting one or two for certain computer geek guys I know to set on their monitors. Have no problem recommending these for use by children. We're very pleased. For Tom Baker fans, this is the best action figure to get because of the alternate head. While the Fourth Doctor figure that comes with the Doctor Who 11 Doctors 5" Action Figure Collector Set may have a better sculpt of the face, the toothy-grin expression of this figure captures the fun character and energy that Tom Baker brought to the role. I can't help but smile every time I look at the grin and I think you will too.

This is a great toy. It has a great articulation and has a great likeness of Tom Baker in his first season on the show. Word of advice, before buying the "Pyramids of Mars" version or the Eleven Doctors set, buy this one for the more flexible scarf and a second non hated head, which can also be swapped with the heads of the "P.O.M." and 11 Doctors set. I highly recommend it and amazon is selling it for fair price (bit expensive, but not more that other figures).

not only is the detail exquisite in this Fourth Doctor he is larger than the star wars junk (6") and mine came with a TARDIS light/sound vehicle scaled to this action figure exactly!(TARDIS vehicle about 8") I did not even know it came with the TARDIS it isn't advertised but I'd say for the price it is worth it. I collect(and film) for Youtube, nice additon of the alternate head for serious/silly expression even if he has no hat in the serious expression. Whether your a collector or a toy enthusiest this is worth the dough!
