This review is from: Doctor Who Future Sonic Screwdriver with Lights and Sound (Toy)
I only recently started watching the new (2005) Doctor Who but, quickly liked it and wanted a sonic screwdriver of my own. i decided to get this thinking that for the price even if it was a peace of junk it would be fun. It is much more then ok even though it is all plastic and prob wouldnt survive a long fall it is well made for such a toy. the lights and sounds effects are bright and clear, the little cover lifts off the top to show the neutral transiver and a small slightly hidden button. this button changes the tips from blue to red and when pressed for two sec lights up the neural transiver which shows all bars lit up and flickers for a few sec then goes out. For the price i am very happy with this gadget, if it had been $30 or $40 i would feel a little ripped off. this will definetly bring a smile to any Doctor Who fan. Ships in original packaging, batteries included.

This review is from: Doctor Who Future Sonic Screwdriver with Lights and Sound (Toy)
I've been a Doctor Who fan for years, but never thought to look on amazon for a toy screwdriver. Once i got a look at the inventory, I decided on this one. The Future Sonic screwdriver, Used by Professor River Song in "Silence in the Library" and "Forest of the Dead". I chose it for the options, such as the Neural Relay, and the Red Settings. The finger ring on the side quite fragile, but if it will last a day at work with me, in a Pressroom, then its durable enough, although I wouldn't try dropping it too far.
While the Neural Relay is active, the screwdriver won't work, but it only stays on for a few seconds. And if you Listen, you can hear a secondary noise when you use the Red setting, which is why the blue is much brighter, because the Red setting also has to power an extra sound, which makes it a little less bright. All in all, It was a good pruchase. It was shipped out, and recieved sooner than the expected date, by almost 2 days I Believe. Comes with a set of batteries, all in original packaging.

This was purchased for my grandson who is 10 and is a big Dr. Who fan. He has every sonic screwdriver made for Dr. Who that is for sale. He plays with them daily so I think they're durable. He has been pleased with each one of them - the sonic screwdriver, the future sonic screwdriver, the master laser screwdriver, etc.
