4.0 out of 5 stars Real good plot in this one, May 30, 2005
This review is from: Doctor Who and the Keeper of Traken (Doctor Who, No. 37) (Paperback)
This one is real focused, not a lot of subplots going on around the main one. The Doctor has just one companion, Aldric, who he picked up in E-Space after K9 and Romana stayed behind. The Master makes a return in this one as the Doctor's foe. Has many of the typical Doctor Who plot items; the authorities will not listen to the Doctor and arrest him, he is scheduled for execution, but manages to convince someone to help him out and eventually saves the day. This time the bad guy takes the form of a statue who is trying to steal the Source, the power that keep Traken a good and free society.

Another fun novelization and as always a quick read. Enjoy!

4.0 out of 5 stars The beginning of the end..., January 4, 2001
This review is from: Doctor Who and the Keeper of Traken (Doctor Who, No. 37) (Paperback)
The TARDIS, now with just the Doctor and Adric on board, has returned from E-Space. It is entered by a being of immense power, the Keeper of Traken, a peaceful place from which evil has been banished. But the Keeper knows his time is almost up, and sense an all-pervading evil which may threaten the Union of Traken in the difficult period between his death and the succession of the next Keeper. He asks the Doctor to come to Traken to ensure that the evil doesn't destroy the Union. But little does the Doctor know which of his old foes is the evil sensed by the Keeper...

The penultimate story featuring Tom Baker as the Doctor, this story is great in its own right but also important in that it sets the stage for the next story, 'Logopolis'. It reintroduces a foe from the Doctor's past, and also a future ally: Nyssa, who becomes a companion.
