4.0 out of 5 stars Krillotane's Again, February 1, 2010

This review is from: Doctor Who: The Krillitane Storm (Doctor Who (BBC Hardcover)) (Hardcover)
I don't know what I was expecting, but this is a very entertaining romp through the Whoniverse for those of us who like to sit down and read all about it. This particular installment in the series does a really good job of getting you into the period and creating a vivid picture of the characters and surroundings. The imagery of David Tennant is so keen here, you can literally find yourself seeing him in the role. Kudos to the author for that, as it really does engage the reader.
The story is well done, with twists and turns and typical Who characteristic. What you get here is more than an hour's worth of fun, and the wish that you could see it translated into a real episode or two.
I am hooked on these BBC books. I will have no problem placing them next to my copy of Alexandre Dumas The Count of Monte Cristo. No room for snobbery here.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very fun and exciting, March 1, 2011
I`m 13 and I have to say, even though most people say that the Dr Who books are meant for a younger audience, I found this book to be very suspenceful and way more violent and gory than the others. I`ve read all the books and this one`s up on the edge of your seat list. The Doctor is described perfectly as well as the supporting characters. I`m a HUGE fan of all the Dr Who shows and am so pleased that they`ve made books to follow. I would highly recomend this and all the others. Congrats to Mr. Cooper for one great adventure.

A good follow-up to the series two episode School Reunion, which introduced us to the Krillitanes. This one is set in medieval England, rather than current day. With Krillitanes, bounty hunters, medieval soldiers and amoral fortune hunters, the Doctor finds himself on another grand adventure. All we're missing is K-9 and Sarah Jane! As it is his way, the Doctor always attempts to reason with the enemy and here, he manages to work with most of the Krillitanes at first to find a solution to the issues at hand.

I liked this one, although it was much more serious than funny. It's also got an incredibly high body count.
