excellent read, February 26, 2008
Another great Doctor Who tie-in novel. The story was fast paced, the villains interesting, the the theme a bit darker than previous DW tie-ins. I was very impressed and I felt the author did a lot of research, the description of the olde west was wonderful. The secondary characters are very well drawn, especially a school teacher and Pawnee Indian. As usual, there are callbacks to the new who series, and spot-on dialogue for the Doctor, and a few genuinely creepy moments. These books help with the long wait until series 4 debuts. Well worth a read, in my opinion.

Good book, light reading, April 18, 2008
You really should watch the series before reading the book (or at least some of the series) just to get the accents in your head. The book is fairly true to the characters and the services. It is always interesting to se what different forms 'aliens' and their interactions with humanity can take. This book keeps the humor and 'wackiness' of the series. And of course, Martha is a stone fox. I would get the book just cause her picture is on the cover! Aliens in the old west. The DR saves the day (aided by Martha of course).Good concept.

My favorite Doctor Who novel so far!, April 14, 2008
In this adventure, the Doctor & Martha travel to the Old West. Once there, they eventually have to confront a couple of war-hungry aliens who have taken over the bodies of some unlucky humans. They meet a school teacher, Jenny, a teenage boy, Nathan, and a Pawnee, Walking Crow, among others. The final confrontation and climax of the story comes with the Doctor, Martha, and Nathan inside of an old iron mine facing off against the alien threat. It is edge-of-your-seat excitement as both Martha's and the Doctor's lives are on the line. Things to watch for as you're reading:"Woo" spelled up above, a gun holster with no gun, "Rides in Night", an impulsive kiss, and an advanced copy of THE TIME MACHINE. This is a good read. You won't be disappointed.
