UPDATE: This has broke off the keychain twice since I had it. The first time I managed to superglue it back together, then it broke off in a completely different place, but unfortunately I have not been able to find it. Very upset. Don't get this if you actually plan to use it as a keychain.

This is a cute little toy, but way too expensive for what you get. The flashlight is bright, and will come in handy if you need to get into your house late at night. I like it, but I wouldn't have spent so much money on it if I had seen it up close beforehand.

The Doctor Who Sonic Screwdriver LED Mini Flashlight is very nice. I connected it to my keychain and I use it to help me get into my house at night when I can't see to get inside. When I first used it, I had to shield my eyes as the light is very bright for such a little flashlight but it does a very good job, in the long run. I really enjoy using it. I really do not think it has any educational value as it is a flashlight but it is fun to play around with, though.

This has been my go-to key chain since I bought it. It's durable as all get out, and I love seeing peoples faces when I use it. The flashlight is bright, and the battery is long lasting. I also have to hide it from my coworkers, because they all have a tendency to flash the light and make the noise.

I bought this last summer. Since then it has been on my key chain full time. It is holding up very well for something this size.
It is convenient to have. It has helped me find things that I dropped in my car after dark or see the lock on the front door on occasions when the outside light wasn't on. While not the brightest mini flashlight I've seen, it certainly does the job.
It takes AG3/LR41 batteries. They are easy enough to find so to me it wasn't an issue that it doesn't take "standard" batteries.
My only real issue is the fact that the on button is very sensitive. I've turned it on accidentally while looking for something else in my purse. While the fact that you have to hold the button down to keep it on is ok, it gets annoying to have it try to do a strobe light impression just because I'm looking for something.
On the whole I recommend it. Occasional annoyances aside, I really like it. It lets me have a sonic screwdriver since it has a practical use. Plus it looks cool. Regular flashlights have nothing on a sonic screwdriver.

Detail is fantastic for such a small flashlight, and the iconic design definitely makes it worth the cost. If I had one complaint it would be that the button is very touchy, needing only the slightest touch to activate, which of course poses problems for keeping it in your pocket. All in all I am very satisfied with my purchase and highly recommend the product.

No self-respecting Doctor would board a Tardis without one of these in his pocket! And for us regular one-hearted humans, it holds almost all manner of keys & has a handy-dandy blue glow that is just perfect for when you are trying to find the house key in the dark (Trust me on that one:)). Plus it has a really cool shiny metal exterior (oooh, metallic). So you, ... yes, you ... buy one now before I'm forced to sick the Master on you!!!

This lasted about a week and a half before breaking off my keychain. I was able to get it back on but it eventually ended up falling off and getting lost. Note:I keep my keys in my pockets and don't do really anything that would have put the sonic through undue stress.

My boyfriend loves Dr. Who and was super excited to get this as a gift. I was worried it would be too big, but it isn't at all. Pretty durable & lights up well. Kind of expensive for a key chain, but it was worth his response! I rated it low because the ratings are for toys, and it isn't really as much a toy as it is a key chain.

I could not give this a good review being classified as a toy.
It is not a toy.
It is a keychain pen light for people who have real keys to put on it.

This item is so small it comes with a choaking hazard warning on the package.
Ths item is 3 1/5 inches long and about a half a inch wide.
The chain adds another couple of inches to the length.
It very small.
As a toy it would get lost before it got broke.
How much fun is a flash light?
I don't know of any child old enough to have keys that would be fascinated by a pen light on the end of a key chain, Maybe back in the early 50's.

So as a toy, it is a horrible toy.

As a pen light it is the perfect size and weight. The blue led shines brightly and it could function nicely as a key ring.

The one problem with this item is the thin metal ring holdng the pen light to the chain. It look like would come apart the first time it got snagged or caught on something.

For all the above reasons I would only recommend this item to a collector.
Had this item not been rated as a toy I would have given it 4 stars.

Little pen lights this size are commonly given away freely as business advertisements.

As for price, It is far to costly for "what it does".

The value is in "what it is", a Doctor who collectible.
