First of all, I'm giving it 5 stars simply because it does the job of holding cookies and the sounds work.

Now onto the problems:

The unit I got had a broken Chameleon Circuit, so it seems stuck in the shape of a blue police box. I was also very disappointed to learn that it is not bigger on the inside, therefore it can only hold a single batch of cookies. I can't even fit a baby pool in there! Also, despite the description, it cannot fly through time and space. This I will let slide, as I don't want my cookies going away.

Its just important people know what they're getting.

I absolutely LOVE this cookie jar. It looks great and the sounds and light are fantastic. However, I have encountered a small problem: occasionally when I activate the TARDIS it disappears. It's only done this once or twice and it always returns within a day or two but I feel like it's something any potential buyer should consider.

This is, HANDS DOWN, the coolest cookie jar ever. I love it to bits and pieces, especially when there are cookies inside. :) It's well-made and sturdy, despite being plastic, and very authentic-looking. I've gotten many compliments on it from my like-minded, geeky friends who know what it is. The sound effect is very realistic, and it turns on after you close the top, so it's almost like the TARDIS is going to disappear with all the cookies! But it doesn't, so that's good. I bought it as a housewarming present for myself and my sister. It was sort of expensive, but I don't regret spending the money. An added bonus of the sound effect is that you can hear when anyone else takes a cookie!

I received this as a Christmas present from a good friend (a friend who, although very high in my estimation beforehand, went up a quite a bit more after I opened up the box and saw the TARDIS cookie jar) and it is the coolest thing in the world...and beyond. Although made of plastic, it's quite sturdy and well-made, not to mention detailed and well-modeled. The actual container pulls out for easy cleaning, which makes this more than just a decorative cookie jar but a useful one as well. The best part, though, is the sound effect heard when you close the lid or when the lantern on top is pressed, that wonderful whooshing sound signaling the take-off of the Doctor's TARDIS. I confess, I get into the cookie jar frequently, not to get a cookie but just to have it make that noise; it makes me smile every time. The best part is that there is no possibility of cookie theft with the TARDIS cookie jar. No way can you hide your cookie-stealing habits with that distinctive sound conveniently warning others of your activities.

I sent this to my aunt as a gift for her birthday (she is in the US, I am in the UK). The package arrived in good time and "growled" at her as she picked it up. The growl was of course the tardis materialisation sound which is reported to be very accurate.

She is very happy with it and has some english biscuits especially to go in it. It was even her facebook profile image for a while so it must be good. The detailing was great in the pictures so must be even better in real life.

Oh man this has got to be the coolest cookie jar ever. Well it is the Doctor Who Tardis! Anyone who is a big fan of Doctor Who needs to get this. It honestly is more than a cookie jar in my opinion. It is like a mini collectible!!

The quality is very nice made of light but durable plastic. The device takes 3 1.5v G13 batteries (pretty common , can buy a 50pk on amazon for cheap) and the batteries are included. The device is pre-assembled as well. As advertised the device makes the famous Tardis sound effect two ways. 1. Pressing the light gentle. 2. Lifting the lid and closing it(no stealing a cookie while Dr. Who is on duty!)

The bin for the cookies is very well designed, a tad small length wise but for the most part you should have no problems putting in any reasonably sized cookie. I have to admit the Tardis is much nicer looking than the pictures that I took show.

* I really do see this as a collectible and seems almost sacrilege to put cookies in it and get the inside all dirty. To remedy this problem I simply took a 1 gallon zip-lock back and slipped it inside the jar itself then filled it with cookies(a 1/2 gal bag would work better). So now you can zip-lock the cookies so they stay fresh + it won't dirty the inside of the cookie jar.

This is a def. buy for any doctor who fan and makes a great gift! I actually bought this as a gift for my father since he's a big Dr. Who fan and loves cookies. 5 Stars! Great quality product that is durable and doesn't feel like some cheap kids toy. Sound effect is spot on and the flashing blue light just is great! Makes me smile every time it goes off.

Don't blink... unless you want to find that someone has taken one of your precious jammie dodgers without permission! This cookie jar is an awesome find and will keep Whovians amused for hours pressing the light on top to activate the flashing and TARDIS noise. Thankfully, the TARDIS appears to be broken as it never fully manages to dematerialize. Unfortunately, the same can not be said for its contents, which seem to disappear at an alarming rate.

Unlike the real TARDIS, not only is this cookie jar not bigger on the inside, it is notably *smaller*. The inside contains a plastic box that can be pulled out and washed individually (yay!), but this does cut down on its cookie storing abilities. The outside measures a respectable 5 inches on each side. The inside of the TARDIS cookie jar is only 4 inches. Larger cookies will not fit in here. Jammie Dodgers are perfect, as are oreos and other store purchased cookies, although you won't be able to stack them side-by-side. It held just about 4 packages of jammie dodgers (8 cookies to a package) with some adjusting.

It is made of plastic, but I can assure you that it is no Auton. Wait a second... maybe that's why the Jammie Dodgers disappear so fast. Last night I swore I heard something screaming "Exterminate" and the Cloister Bell going off.

Buy at your own risk.

Perhaps I thought this would be an actual cookie jar, an the price of $50 validated that belief. What i got in the mail was a very small, cheap looking plastic box. This thing might be worth $10, but even that is a stretch when you see how cheap the plastic is. And its not something you can set on shelf and hope that it at least looks good without touching it. It looks incredibly cheap and flimsy. If you want a TARDIS for your house, please keep looking. As a cookie jar, you might be able to fit a few cookies in it, but it is so small you couldn't get many into it. This item is really not worth the money

First off, I will say that I bought this while it was on sale, and payed just over $30.00 for it. I would not pay more than that, but for that price it is a very good product.

Pros: It is made from very sturdy plastic. Contrary to what one reviewer wrote, it makes the "Tardis" noise whenever the lid is closed as well as when the button is pushed. That way you know whenever someone tries to steal your cookies. The inner compartment can be easily removed for cleaning. The details on the box are very good, and it looks exactly like a miniature Tardis.

Cons: As I said, I would definitely not pay more than what I paid for it, which was about $30.00 Luckily, it is still on sale as of today!

Overall, it is a great cookie jar, and a must have for all Dr. Who fans.

This cookie jar is great. It looks and sounds like a little TARDIS. The only real problem is that it isn't actually bigger on the inside, which means the storage capacity is not what I was expecting.
