2.0 out of 5 stars Could be better made, June 10, 2007

I dont know if the bank I recieved was just a dud or not, but it only woked ONE time! I opened the Tardis door & it talked - I closed the Tardis door & it made the engine sound & the blue light on top flashed. I opened the door again - it started to talk, but stopped. I closed the door - nothing. No sound, no light on top. It never worked again. no talking - no light - no sound of any kind. Not only that, if you remove the coin door in the bottom & look inside it, all the circuitry that controls the lights & sounds are exposed to the coin chamber. Meaning when you drop a coin thru the slot, the coins hit/bounce off the circuitry & wires. (that's not what happened to mine, though. I hadn't put any coins in it yet when it stopped working) But I can easily see how a properly functioning bank (in the beginning) would soon become broken from the constant repetition of coins striking the circuitry. It's a great looking Tardis - but if you're really concerned that it WORKS - be warned - it could be better made.

5.0 out of 5 stars Time And Relative Dimension In Space money bank., January 6, 2008
= Durability:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:5.0 out of 5 stars

What can I say about this product? Well, it's fantastic! I got it for Christmas this past year and, even though I didn't ask for it, it's quickly become my favorite gift. It's a ton of fun if you're a die hard Doctor Who fan (or a not so die hard Doctor Who fan) or if you've just wanted a Tardis of your own! It flashes and makes the famous dematerialization noise when you close the doors and when you open them again, the tenth Doctor and Rose (or the ninth Doctor and Rose, or the tenth Doctor and Martha, depending on which version you have) appear in the doorway and you hear one of a few a quirky phrases from The Doctor. This is a fun way to store your money and I recommend it to everyone. Though it doesn't actually travel in space and time--as far as I know--it does make you wonder if it's bigger on the inside. If only you could get your foot in the door...

Note: This product takes three AAA batteries and quite a small screwdriver to open the compartment to put the batteries in. Be sure you have these in supply when you get the bank. Don't want to be disappointed that you won't be able to use it right away because your screwdriver is too big or because you only have AA batteries!

The problems listed w/this refer to the series 1 version of it (w/9 & Rose which is pictured). The one I got is for series 3 (w/Martha & 10). It's a lot of fun & quite detailed (it has a phone inside & looks exactly like the tardis). Many different sounds & of course the light on top flashes. Unlike the series 1 version, the battery/sound stuff is in a different place than the money storage. I do wish they would update the picture so you know which version of this you are getting-I was hoping for a Rose version (although I like my Martha one). My one complaint is that the doors come off easily & are a little difficult to get back on so be careful if you have a kid that wants one.
