Being a huge fan of the modern-day incarnation of Doctor Who--and a recovering action figure junkie dating back to 1978--this was a no-brainer. For today's Doctor Who wouldn't get far without his faithful companions.OK, the inclusion of the Astrid figure (played by Kylie Minogue in "Voyage of the Damned") might be stretching it a bit. I mean, she only appeared in that one episode. But it's a good likeness, so who's complaining? Of the other human characters (K-9 is a robot dog...not easy to screw that one up), Donna Noble fares the worst. Her figures looks a bit like a butch version of Dr. Crusher from Star Trek TNG. The others are fine, and are represented in some of their trademark outfits. As for articulation, my only complaint is that none of the figures bend at the elbow. K-9 features a pull-back mechanism that allows him to zip along like a toy car. The set is packaged very well, with brief bios of each character on the back. If you're one of those folks that will never take them out of the box, you'll be delighted to know that they are sealed in TIGHT. Seriously, it took me about 15 minutes to spring the lot of them from their little holding cells. Bottom line: If you've got the Doctor and some of his adversaries, you've got to add the companion set to your collection.

Each of these figures are highly detailed and they accurately represent all the Doctor's female companions from the show.
