More About the Author

Christopher Barina Kaiser began his professional life as an astrophysicist and later became interested in theology. His teaching and research aim to build bridges (or dig tunnels) between the two disciplines. He has been part of Western Theological Seminary's faculty since 1976 and has also taught at the University of Edinburgh, Calvin Theological Seminary, and the Reformed Theological Academy in Sárospatak, Hungary. Dr. Kaiser has written three books: The Doctrine of God (1982, 2001), Creational Theology and the History of Physical Science (1992, 1997), and Toward a Theology of Scientific Endeavour (2007). Dr. Kaiser has served on both the Theological Commission of the Reformed Church in America and the Orthodox-Reformed Dialogue of the World Alliance of Reformed Churches. Currently he is active in the West Michigan Committee for Jewish-Christian dialogue and the Dialogue in Science and Religion for the Greater Grand Rapids Area. His wife Martha is a retired primary school teacher and reading facilitator who now works as a consultant. Chris and Martha have three sons, two of whom are now happily married.
