Coldplay's "unauthorised biography" CD (British spelling don't sue me) is full of pretentious words; mostly fawning platitudes aimed at the band.
OK, we get it: they're existentialistic, achingly vulnerable, against the man-metal grain, and have haunting, soaring ballads that transcend definition (yet not description... as this CD proves). I have a whole CD ahead of me to listen to; these impressions are merely from chapter one. I have a strong feeling the verbiage will continue unabated throughout. Skip it. |
