Excellent overview,
By
This review is from: Document Control (Paperback)
This is a straightforward, clear overview of document control. I think it is especially useful for presenting document control concepts to those whose primary function is not document control but who are being asked to comply with such a program. The book was shorter than expected, and one may need to look beyond this book for more detailed instruction in implementing a large-scale document management or document control program.

First Steps to Controling Documents,
By George - Six Sigma (Michigan) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Document Control (Paperback)
We had never looked at our office system as a process before - WOW - this book helped us to start with our paper flow and actually graph it as the examples in the book for Sequencing Processes/Documents. This has helped us to simplify our system and we are getting positive feedback from our employees and clients (Tips for Document Writers). The book also gave us practical examples of how to manage our documents for future use.

Excellent Primer,
By Elizabeth - consultant (Michigan) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Document Control (Paperback)
I have found this book to be an excellent primer for those clients who are just learning about systems thinking and applying those concepts to paperwork and electronic information systems. The book gives excellent examples to help an organization think through their information system and to think of it as a process that can be improved to meet customer (internal and external) satisfactions.

Very Good Introduction to Controling Your Documents,
By John - Office Manager (Kansas) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Document Control (Paperback)
I have just finished reading this "Simple Guide to Managing Documents" and wish we had this when we first started working on our ISO registration. This book sure brings things down to the simple applications of working with our paperwork without creating a mountain of paper. Thank You.

Too simple for the topic,
By Mr Business Book (Westminster, CO United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Document Control (Paperback)
I was excited to see a book on documentation and made the mistake of ordering it without seeing a few reviews from other readers. 68 pages is barely enough for a couple of chapters, certainly not enough for a $20 book. Save your money and wait for a better book to come out, or read "Business Process Improvement Workbook" from Harrington, Esseling and Nimwegen which I would give 5 stars. This is the most disappointing business book I have ever purchased.
