So, Amazon gives us two Office suites in as many weeks for free... Which is better?

First of all, the install horked up my phone trying to get DtG to install. Then when starting DtG, there were a whole bunch of BS screens, license agreements, "Please register with us" nonsense.

I quickly tested some of my larger word/excel docs with both, and DtG choked on the very first one I opened. YMMV, but Quick Office opened EVERYTHING I threw at it. It was also much faster to open a 40MB PDF. Both rendered fine, and I could easily zoom in on a parts diagram with good clarity. QO also had a more intuitive layout for things like rotating the PDF to a readable orientation. Neither app remembered my place in the PDF file for further reading. Disappointing. I should be able to quickly check an e-mail and go back to what I was doing in a 265 page document.

Quick Office had far more features for working with my various online services such as Dropbox. DtG may support Dropbox, but I couldn't easily find it, and after clicking on the wrong option a few times and being asked to buy a "premium upgrade", I got tired of looking.

In short, if you've already gotten the free Quick Office a few weeks back, you really don't need this. In fact, Quick Office was better in every conceivable way.

DtG has been consistently upgraded over he years, has always shown a high level of quality in product and diligence in customer service the scant few times I've needed assistance, and I use it daily to handle editing simple documents on the run and forwarding them. $15 is a steal, they used to charge considerably more in the heyday of PalmOS and it was worth the full price then.

I have been annoyed with working on spreadsheets on a small screen, but after trying other Office mobile programs I find no one has solved this problem and at least DtG does a good job of making it as comfortable as possible under the circumstances. I will say that it has been a lot easier since I no longer have to use Grafitti to enter formulas.

In short, high quality app, expect you'll get upgrades infrequently but consistently. Nothing glamorous about this workhorse of an app but highly reliable as a mobile work tool.

My Acer Iconia A500 tablet came with a pre-installed version of the free Docs to Go. Unfortunataly this unlock key is not compatible with that version. I purchased it without realizing this. When I contacted Amazon about this problem they issued a prompt and friendly refund. :-)

I then purchased the correct unlock key for Docs to go from the Android Market and that worked fine.

I prefer buying my apps from Amazon whenever possible so I hope compatiblity issues of this sort will be cleared up in the future.

I just downloaded this application for free today; I downloaded the free version from Amazon and then downloaded the free full key app.
The program is now fully unlocked and working great. As for a couple small things I noticed.

- registering does not work when you first try -- however I did find a way to register this program. Open up the application and click on the settings icon in the bottom right hand corner (a sprocket icon). Select about, Now where it says unregistered click on the blue link to register, it should now work -- it just did for me.

- Second, maybe just a kindle fire thing. I installed the app and then the fully unlocked key app. Unfortunately, I now have two application icons for "Documents to go" in my apps section bookshelf. And it's annoying, I would so prefer to just have one icon. I tried removing one of the two icons, if I delete one of the icons the program goes back into the free locked version. If I delete the other icon the program isn't there and says to download the free version. Why can't I just have one pretty icon on my bookshelf. why. Amazon please fix this :) or someone tell us how.

I am really disenchanted with this app. It is touted as the standard for Android office apps , and, it has such minimal functionality that it seems to be little more than a glorified Notepad.

The Word Processor is the thing I use most and this one is sorely lacking. It is incompatible with many of the features of high end keyboards, it cannot insert images from galleries, it only allows media that was inserted into a document created elsewhere and moved to the device. The formatting does not import into any version of MS word, and , the documents it exports are incompatible with other Android office apps. I like to use my Tablet to get a project started, format the text , add media and such before I send it to my PC. This app really doesn't offer much to improve my workflow, in fact, it seems intent on impeding my Word workflow.

The Excel and Power Point portions of the app seem to work ok until you get a lot of data and the app crashes and you have to start over.

Power Point presentations always lose elements on import / export and the picture resizing pixelates the images.

I own all the Office Apps for Android , and , I find that when comparing this to others it comes up severely lacking.

If you are looking for the best Android has to offer in office apps get a copy of Office Suite 5 Pro, it is far and away the best of them all, and it leaves Documents to go in the dust.
