About the Author

After paying his dues working in a variety of dusty auto parts stores, and then earning a journalism degree from Southwest Texas State University, Steve Statham's career in automotive journalism started with a stint as managing editor at Super Ford magazine. He later served as the editor of Musclecar Enthusiast magazine for many years. Along the way, he has authored and photographed 12 books on automotive history and contributed articles to dozens of automotive publications. Steve also writes fiction, and his new novel is Rules of Force, a sci-fi thriller. When not writing or editing, Statham tries to find time to take his wife and daughter out cruisin' in his 1968 GTO.

I absolutely LOVE Dodge Darts and their Plymouth Valiant sisters. The high performance beautiful, streamlined 6-cylinder Chrysler has certainly earned its place in the hearts of classic car and Chrysler lovers.
This book does a big service to Dart afficionadoes; readers will be treated to some really cool pictures of some very serious cars. The Darts and Valiants set new standards and certainly raised the bar in automotive production. It is also a real treat for people who like muscle cars. The Dodge Dart and Plymouth Valiant, famous for their slant 6 engine have earned their rightful place on the road, in our collective hearts and among those cars used as high performance muscle cars.

This book is OK but still not a real solid chronology of the eveolution of the chrysler A-body . Focusing on just the two models it features a few nice examples of the breed and some actual rare photos and sketches of rare and not to be A-bodys. However it skips around quite a bit and still does not satify My desire to see a book illustrating an example of each model year by year with good detailed info of all the options available.

I bought this for my husband, who is a muscle car buff. I try to get him a different muscle car book for Christmas every year. This book made him very happy and he spent much of the next few days reading in his favorite chair.
