It's too bad they don't just do a best of Sega 8 and 16 bit collection. How great would it be to have Phantasy Star 1 through 4 on one disk?

If you look on IGN's website, there are some screenshots of games from this disk. Great news is it looks like all 4 original Phantasy Star games on it. I can't wait to play this as that is my favorite game series of all time.

i hope they put Sonic R in.

What would be really cool though, is if they continued to release games as DLC. Given how old these games are, most of them are probably really small in filesize, so it shouldnt be a problem storing them. I know I'D pay a few bucks to download Sonic R off the PS Store.

I haven't heard any plans on a new sonic mega collection, this is probably it. Along with the list the person posted there is going to be unlockable games so there will be 40+ games on the disc. Hopefully we'll see some more sonic titles on here, but I'm not sure. I doubt they will release another sonic mega collection. If anything, this is it.

Actually you are in luck...the original Phantasy Star for the Master System is one of the unlockable games, so that would have all 4 PS games on this one disk. I am definitely excited about that since I never go a chance to play the original, and only played some of 2 and 3, though I really loved 4 and have played that many times.

Here's a list of all the unlockables that I know of just for everyone's reference:
Golden Axe Warrior (Sega Master System)
Phantasy Star (Sega Master System)
Alien Syndrome (Arcade)
Altered Beast (Arcade)
Congo Bongo (Arcade)
Fantasy Zone (Arcade)
Shinobi (Arcade)
Space Harrier (Arcade)
Zaxxon (Arcade)

Damn, I'm pissed I spent the money on buying some of these games separately now and the PS2 Sega Genesis Collection. I could have had the original Phantasy Star and all of the Streets of Rage games.

Great collection! I have allot of them, along with a rather dusty geneisis, but with no question I will be getting this 'as is' but it would have been great to have Shadow Dancer (another one of the Shinobi games) on the collection too.

I would give a nut to have a collection this large with all the Disney Genesis titles. From Fantasia to Pinochio and even the Duck Tails and TailSpin games. Plus all the Mickey and Donald games MAN that would be great! Anybody know if this could happen?

I wish that they would release a lot more of the not so famous, but classic Genesis games like: X-MEN and X-MEN 2: Clone Wars. AfterBurner I and II, Zombies ate my neighbors, just to name a few. Having a little trouble thinking of others to which I know there are a lot more. Help me out!

GameFAN, I agree with your words (If I buy used I usually go to eBay, but I mostly buy new) but I think you're in the wrong thread...
