More About the Author

Lee Greenwood could easily talk about the accomplishments he has had in his career, but the entertainer prefers to talk about what he is doing today as he continues to write and record with the same passion and integrity that has always fueled his stellar career.

"I want my family to see what I do and not just what I did," he says of sharing his passion for music with his wife Kim and their two sons, Dalton and Parker. "I like the artistry of it. I could have been a carpenter or a farmer, but I love the spirit of the music. The creative ideas still flow and I am writing much more than I have in previous years. I always love to create something new."

Greenwood will take his career a step beyond songwriting this spring when he releases his new book, "Does God Still Bless the USA". It will feature a calendar called "Prayers of a Patriot" and will include two songs, written by Greenwood, for download in the back of the book.

Lee Greenwood is a personal hero of mine. When I heard about his trip to ground zero of the 9/11 attack and he just spontaneously started to sing "Proud to be An American" I teared up a bit.

I saw him on CNN and he said that he had not planned on singing but was so overcome by emotion while at the scene that he knew it was the right thing to do. I'm just glad he had his guitar with him even though he wasn't planning on singing. That is what you call a lucky break.

I'm sure some of you small-minded people might question why he brought his guitar if he wasn't planning on singing, but I would call that a bunch of un-American baloney. Lee Greenwood would never take a cheap opportunity like that to further his own station. I'm not gonna listen to anyone who alleges it. And yes, there have been a lot of people who've said it, but that doesn't make it true.

I love his look and American flag jackets and two-day's worth of stubble will always be in fashion. It might hurt to kiss him, but he ain't ever asked me to do that, so it's sort of a moot point.

I would ask him to embrace his thinning hairline a little bit more.

I'm seventy years old, spent over three years serving my country. Took three bullets, and thanks to God, none of them did major damage. I start with that introduction to me so that you will realize I have a hard bias. Lee Greenwood is someone I look up to. His book makes it quite clear that he loves his country, and also makes it clear that he is a Christian who has a close walk with the Lord. His book gives hope for our country, especially now. It was a comfort to me, as his song "God Bless The USA" has been for years. If that's the way you believe, this is your book. Does God Still Bless the U.S.A.?

This is a great book. There are few books that address this topic
with a christan point of view. It tell of his life and his strong
walk with God and the faith he has in God and this great country
we call the usa.The usa has many flaws but it is still a great
place to call home.

Very interesting reading as he describes why he believes what he believes and where the country should be headed...compared to where it is headed.

I like everyone have followed Lee Greenwood since he started singing God Bless America..I enjoyed reading about a man who worked hard all his life and has had sucessess. I've been reading history and agree we need to get back to God in our lives. If he writes another one I'll gladly read it as well.

Lee Greenwood does a good job capturing the essence of America's culture from a historical perspective and from his personal history. I enjoyed it. It's a good read with plenty of reminders as to who we are as Americans (US Citizens).
