Does the pitcher haved a top?

It does have a top with a pour spout. The infusing column screws into the top.

Yes it has a top. The infuser case/tube (not sure how else to describe it) screws into the lid. It's really nice because if you decide you don't want to infuse anything in your water or whatever you are filling the pitcher up with you can leave the tube out and the lid still is fully functional. The lid is solid across, when it is in place the only opening is at the pour spout. Due to the shape of the top it doesn't spin to close the spout opening, but that's not a very large opening, maybe half inch.

yes, the infusion cylinder screws into the lid and it fits onto the top of the pitcher, without leaking!
