Hi Megan, Playbook 2.0 comes with office-to-go app for word/excel/ppt files. You can even create, edit and view ms office files. It has HDMI port, but you need to buy an adaptor for you to attached to you monitor or tv sets. It has micro-USB port for data transfer (via BB desktop manager) and charging. Though it also has a dedicated charging port if you have a docking station - which is another accessory.

It has an app called "Doc to go", which can open and edit Word, Excel and Powerpoint files. It does not support USB, but does have HDMI port. The micro-USB is only for charing, back up and file transfer between Playbook and computer. For example, you cannot just plug in any USB device such as flash drive and expects it to work. It won't.
