Certain applications where you connect a PC or laptop with DVI to HDMI cabling require a power source to work with HD ready LCD monitors. If you need a power supply get a 5VDC power adapter from radio shack with a H tip connector and set the tip polarity to positive and you'll be good to go.

If the unit does not need power then what does it do with the 5v DC that comes in if a Switch Owner (Ultra High Performance HDMI Switcher, 3to1 Switch) connects a 5 v power supply to the input?

The switcher does not work and I think it's because the company didn't supply the 5v ACDC converter. Where is the converter? How do I get one? 5vdc how many amps?
