5.0 out of 5 stars Required Listening!, March 2, 2005

Let me just start by saying that if this cd only included tracks 1,6,and 8 it would be worth whatever you had to pay for it! The fact that they decided to include all the rest of these voodoo swamp back porch jems is just gravy. I'll admit this might not be up everyone's alley, but if you like heartfelt music thats a little rough around the edges you should give it a try. Its got ugly and beautiful and mundande and transcendent all in equal measure, and I will buy another when my copy bites the dust! Oh yeah, while you're at it you can buy their other disc too, because you know it'll heal ya.

chris flemmons howls like an ozark mountain boy over sparse lo-fi arrangements of acoustic guitars and primitive percussion. song topics about love and death abound- all of this arranged in a suprisingly effective manner. if you like the new traditional country or the alt. country of the likes of joyner or oldham this might be up your alley- though it is a bit rowdier than all the others.

...you can get the european version of this cd which includes their earlier cassete demo songs (which are up to par with the eight on the american ep), transforming an eight song 19 minute disc into a fourteen song 40 minute album. it's very worth it.
